Princess Kako of Japan is making an official visit to Brazil this year to mark the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil. On June 11, 2025, Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received Princess Kako at the Planalto Palace in Brasília. The Princess also met with Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at the Itamaraty Palace.

Afterwards, Princess Kako attended a meeting with members of the Japanese community at the Japanese Embassy in Brasília. She then visited a private school in Campo Grande that teaches Japanese culture to children of Japanese descent. While in Campo Grande, she also laid flowers at a monument honoring the pioneer Japanese immigrants.

Princess Kako is scheduled to arrive in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, where she will visit the Christ the Redeemer statue and a museum of Japanese immigration. The final part of her visit will take place in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, home to the world-famous Iguaçu Falls.

  3. Waouh, j'aime voir le président Lula charmé par la princesse surtout quand elle est dans son magnifique kimono bleu à divers motifs dont une de couleur orange qui se retrouve dans son rouge à lèvres ; vraiment, la cour impériale ne pouvait pas être mieux représentée !

    Quelle marque de confiance de la cour impériale vis-à-vis de Kako.

    Cela signifie qu’elle l’estime largement à la hauteur pour assumer ce type de mission. Ce qui me réjouit profondément.

    J’apprécie la robe de couleur vert menthe portée par cette princesse.
