They all look so pretty. Love P Astrid’s shoes with alittle bling on them, matching the pretty colour of her dress. P.Ingrid looks fabulous in that red dress. I wonder why only one glove. Lovely to see them looking so well.

I do see she was carrying the other glove with her handbag

    2. Is that a glove or a bandage?

Because you greet people with your right hand, she is holding the other glove in her left hand.

      It is bandage not glove

For formal tiara events, gloves are common. You take the right one off to shake hands warmly with your guests. I wonder therefore if the one glove is in preparation for the greetings. I agree about Ingrid Alexandra being beautifully dressed. Always fun to see a tiara event! - Mary

  2. If I'm not mistaken official visits are less formal than state visits, but I'm glad the King and Queen decided to host a gala dinner for the French Presidential couple. Especially because this would mean another tiara outing for Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

All of the men look very handsome tonight. I really like First Lady Brigette's look. Her dress is simple but elegant.

Queen Sonja: I think her Majesty looks lovely. She is sporting one of my favorite tiaras from the Norwegian royal vaults, the Queen Josephine Diamond Tiara!

CP Mette Marit: I'm not a huge fan of the dress style, but white is such a pretty color on her. What I did like was her jewelry choice, 10/10. The pendant earings with the red/pink stones are gorgeous.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra: Red is such a pretty color on her, but I must admit I'm a little disappointed by her look tonight. I would have liked to see her try other jewelry pieces from the royal vaults. She wore the exact same ones for the Icelandic state visit a few months ago. The style of the gown doesn't really suit her in my opinion, not very youthful. I think the big issue here is the bulky white glove on just one arm. Not sure who thought that was a good idea.

Princess Astrid: The princess looks lovely tonight. Her turquoise crown and necklace match perfectly with her light blue dress.

Like: Ingrid Alexandra's rivière and her hairstyle. Don't like: her gown, too laborious - it is like when someone uses dozens of words instead of a succinct short expression. Less could be more. Like: Madame Macrons elegance and hair pulled away from her face, Queen Sonja's outfit. Wondering about: Mette-Marit's gown, looks very heavy with lots of fabric, like protection against cold weather - not like an evening gown. Princess Astrid soldiers on, she is pretty, I love her attitude - bless her heart.

    1. Many positive comments to make. However I largely agree with 23:50, particularly about Ingrid Alexandra's dress ; I think she has the age for a more simple gown, mainly about the top. Other ladies probably had specific reasons for their choice.

Red dress on Ingrid Alexandra doesn’t fit well. Sags down in the front.

Madame Macron looks elegant in her white dress. Can’t compliment Mette Marit in her Pope like dress. Princess Alexandra, nice choice.

i notice that in all official photos, Madame Macron cosses her hand to the other side of the handbag, any significance to this!

They all look marvelous, including the gentlemen. Love the last photo of both King and President seated, as well as Pr. Astrid. Very thoughtful and considerate. Queen Sonja's dress really flatters her and I love Brigette's beautiful white gown. She always stuns in whatever she wears.

OMG - Princess Ingrid Alexandra looks absolutely stunning! What a gorgeous red gown and perfect tiara hair. Youthful and polished at the same time, and very regal. The sparkling jewels suit her so well and are to die for.

  10. I don´t usually like Brigitte Macron´s style, but I must give her that she looks fabulous here.
Of the Norwegian ladies, unfortunately, I think only Astrid got it right.
Sonja´s dress looks quite dated (as many of her dresses do), and the purple colour is just not ideal together with the red sash.
Mette-Marit´s dress looks clerical to me, almost pope-like.
Ingrid´s dress is stunning in itself, but I´m afraid it doesn´t look quite right on her. Instead of a very sexy silhouette defined by the corsaged waist, hers looks scrunched up. And instead of the folded-over bust accentuating curves, hers obscures her waist. It´s either to big altogether, or sitting too low, or she doesn´t have the curves to do this dress justice.
Haakon looks nice. And so proud of his daughter.

Brigitte Macron: beautifull dress and beautifull coiffure!
MM : good dress for her.
The Queen: has never a very good choice for gala dresses, but nevertheless: lovely lady.
IA: Vivian Westwood, so it is meant to be over the top
