On the morning of Thursday, May 15, 2025, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands attended the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Buurtgezinnen ("neighborhood families") in Doorn. Buurtgezinnen connects families in need of support with nearby families who can offer help in raising their children. This allows children to receive extra attention and provides much-needed relief to their parents.
Founded on the principle that “raising children is something we do together,” Buurtgezinnen aims to ensure that children can grow up safely and healthily within their own families, while empowering parents by showing them they are not alone. For instance, children may visit their support families weekly to play, or use a quiet space for homework.
Buurtgezinnen is currently active in more than 140 municipalities and has facilitated over 7,000 matches between families since its founding. In 2017, the organization received an "Appeltje van Oranje" award from the Oranje Fonds, after which Queen Máxima paid a working visit to Buurtgezinnen.
Queen Máxima attended the plenary program and was presented with the first copy of the book Waar ik me thuis voel ("Where I Feel at Home") by children's author Ellen Stoop. She then engaged in conversations with several regional coordinators from Buurtgezinnen, as well as aldermen from municipalities where the initiative is active.

ReplyDeleteShe does occasionally bring in the bigger Max, yes, and she still looks great. But I love max Maxima! I particularly like her big hats, which are systematically incredibly flattering and beautiful.

This is a beautiful look on Maxima. I love everything about it. Her hair looks amazing and she has a little of her personal style in the large statement earrings. This is a really nice balanced outfit.

ReplyDeleteComme je l’ai fait savoir dans un de mes commentaires, l’excentricité peut être exprimée avec équilibre.
Par exemple, l’on peut miser sur des couleurs inédites. De même que sur des modèles de bijoux originaux, novateurs.
Comme dans ce cas. La couleur de son costume, de même que ses boucles d’oreilles vont de pair avec sa personnalité. Aucun élément n’est de trop.
L’équilibre fut trouvé.

I love this color and Maxima wears it well. Suit fits her body beautifully. The earrings are a bit much, but they match and she didn't ruin the outfit with too much jewelry. This suit is worth several re-wears including one with black trousers too.
