On May 20, 2025, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the 86th edition of the Madrid Press Association (APM) Awards, held at the Auditorio Caja de Música Centro in Madrid. This year's ceremony recognized the careers of Fernando Ónega, Vicente Vallés, Irene Dorta, and Ana del Barrio, and also marked the 130th anniversary of the Association.
2024 APM Honorary Award: Presented to Fernando Ónega, “who has lived and conveyed the news to citizens over nearly 60 years of journalistic work,” in recognition of a lifetime career. 2024 APM Best Journalist of the Year Award: Awarded to Vicente Vallés, director and presenter of Noticias 2 on Antena 3, for his outstanding journalistic work over the past year.
2024 APM Young Journalist of the Year Award: Given to Irene Dorta, a reporter at El Independiente, in recognition of her work as a standout journalist under the age of 30. 2024 APM Madrid Specialist Journalist Award: Awarded to Ana del Barrio, a reporter at El Mundo, in recognition of her journalism focused on Madrid and her professional career.
For the occasion, Spain's Queen Letizia chose a blue V-neck crepe dress with embroidered detailing by Bottega Veneta.
J'adore l'élégance de cette petite robe à col en V sur laquelle on peut voir des petites broderies !
ReplyDeleteNice dress for Letizia today.

Nice dress though I feel despite liking the colour it does not seem to suit her well. I like the shoes, but again with the dress it seems odd. Can’t put my finger on what is making me think it is just an okay look.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Anonymous 19:32. I am sure the dress looks better in reality than on the photos.
DeleteYes, something not right about the dress.
DeleteCute dress with a flirty-like skirt. But those shoes spoil the outfit. Too many straps. Stick with a few basics - even ballet flats, if her feet will allow her to wear those. But not shoes with straps over the top.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. The dress is perfect and a lovely colour but the shoes are ugly. We know she’s unable to wear high heels, which must be really tough for her, but a low heeled court or sandal would have looked better

After reading your ideas here, I looked back to her earlier wears of this dress in 2018/2021 when she wore black stilettos. In my estimation, it didn’t change the look of the dress - low or high shoes. I think it’s just a pretty dress that will not look as sleek or ultra elegant as many of the more fitted forms she wears. Accessories-independent! Therefore, cute dress with cute shoes makes for a cute outfit, which I think is the end result here. I actually love these shoes!
DeleteA beautiful dress which fits perfectly and is absolutely correct for the occasion. In my opinion Queen Letitzia is possibly the best dressed of all the current royals.
ReplyDeleteDo not exaggerate please.
DeleteAgreed.

Anonymous 7:41, please don’t tell another who is joyful and positive in sharing their own well stated opinion to “not exaggerate”. It’s not your role and it’s a joy killer …
DeleteMy opinion has as much value as yours. Queen Letizia has lovely dresses as well as less lovely dresses, just like all the other royal ladies.
DeleteWe cannot say anything anymore on this blog (especially about certain queens or princesses).
I like this dress, its pretty and feminine.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress, perfect fit, nice colour. I like the shoes, just not with this dress.
ReplyDeleteI think the dress lovely, but found myself wishing it might be accompanied by just one (ok, maybe two?) pieces from the 'joyas de pasar'. J
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and especially the shoes. Very edgy Mary Janes with the added straps and a low block heel. I’d wear those myself!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is OK but not summery. What I noticed is that Queen Letizia is looking thinner than before, I saw it too when she was wearing the white column dress at the inauguration of pope Leo and I see it now on picture N° 2 and on the last picture on the left.
ReplyDeleteSummery? It is not summer in Spain yet, 12 C this morning...
DeleteSummery is a way of speaking. Of course it is not summer yet not in Spain and not in the rest of Europe. To me the dress looks a bit too dark for spring. But since we cannot say that either. Btw in my country it is 9°C in the morning.
DeleteAnon 13:51...I do not understand the summery thing either...I wear black dresses in August, also dark things . Also white in January...In Spain we do not wear different colours , only different outfits as shorts, sleeveless dresses or shirts..but colours can be the same.. Actually I see this dress very summery, It is not warm
DeleteMaybe some added royal gems would have added some pomp into this royal engagement.
ReplyDeleteThere are not royal gems in Spain, all disappeared during the dictatorsip.
