Well, she wears a blue coat, so this is a good choice,

Since Prince Albert was german, it might be a nice gesture to the host

And now it is official: Queen Camilla, as seen on invitation by Buckingham Palace. Well done

  2. Tiens par ce temps pluvieux, Camilla a sorti ses bottes confortables au contraire de Madame Budenbender qui porte des chaussures pas vraiment idéales même si j'aime beaucoup le reste de sa tenue !

Since it was typical "Hamburg im Regen", the boots were needed, hope that Frau Büdenbenders delicate pumps did survive the rain. Both the Queen Consort and the "first Lady" looked elegant.

Ja, leider echtes norddeutsches Schietwetter, aber die Damen ( und Herren) haben es bestens gemeistert!

The brooch is gorgeous. Thanks DSC for pointing that out. Camilla is dressed spot on for the stormy weather, the boots just right. (Lady G.)

Great outfit and a beautiful brooch. I would like this one myself. What great turnout in Hamburg the rain did not matter. Very nice to watch them. I am glad K C III spoke German. css .

  5. I like this coat and can see the reason for the boots but the First Lady managed to survive with gorgeous shoes. Excellent outfit altogether for the First Lady.

Ohhhh--be still my heart!!! The Prince Albert brooch is back!!! It is my favorite royal brooch in any collection and Queen Camilla looks wonderful wearing it. I have so missed seeing this gorgeous brooch. Camilla is also perfectly dressed for the stormy, wet weather too. So happy to see Camilla is continuing to wear the beautiful brooches from the BRF collection because, as Queen Margrethe so memorably said, you can tell history through jewelry and Camilla is connecting us to the history.

Such a historic, special and beautiful brooch on such an ill fitting cheap looking coat. I wish she'd buy a new coat or two.

Lovely Prince Albert sapphire brooch- yeah! With a great blue coat/outfit minus the grey hat.

Well QC one of the horrible coats again ? Look at the shoulder pads much too large. I didn't know she had the same hat as the beige one in grey. It is a too big with that (faux) fur all around. The aubergine coat of the other day is so much better. And the boots again of course. Frau Büdenbender's beige coat is a bit too short, just under the knee would have been better. The nude tights and the red shoes look too summery for that bad weather.

I agree with you: "the nude tights and the red shoes look summery..."
The red shoes, the beige/sand - coloured outfit were not appropriate- although Fr. Büdenbender has very good legs. As the host you shouldn't try to draw attention to yourself (red shoes) but stay in the background without lacking elegance.

Yes I have. I said the other day that QC was looking good in her modern new coat (dark brown-aubergine) and I'd prefer she would have worn it again. Isn't that positive ?!

It seems to be Camilla's preference, but I'm really not fond of her dark outfits these days. Yes, she's not THE Queen & the focus is on her husband, but she could wear something lighter that makes her stand out more. She's literally blending into the background in most of these pictures. The outfit itself is ok, of course, nothing special. Ms Büdenbender could've opted for a longer dress/coat to match the rainy cold in Germany yesterday. I like her shoes, though!

I'don't. I think, the colour of her shoes is ridiculous for this occasion. I prefer Camilla's outfit.

Seems to be fashion diplomacy, because like on day one Frau Büdenbender wears colours of the british union jack.

Not a fashion-related question but - why have they chosen to call her queen consort?
All the other non-royal queens in Europe are called just queen.
Silvia, Letizia, Maxima, Sonja and Mathilde(though she was noble). Please tell me.

Perché regina sarebbe stato un grande regalo, forse troppo per tutta la loro storia. Elisabetta da principio aveva parlato che sarebbe stata “solo” principessa, ma il tempo a volte è troppo galantuomo.

    3. Queen Consort is the title used by the Palace. See their own Twitter account, the Royal Family, for example.. I still think of Her late Majesty Elizabeth when I hear THE Queen and I imagine many other people do likewise.

The title consort is used until the coronation. After that it will be Queen Camilla.

    5. Well, the British were told at first (upon the marriage of Charles and Camilla in 2005) that she later would be known as the Princess Consort. Then, around the day of her 70th anniversary to the ascension to the throne, the late Queen Elizabeth II let it known to the public that it was her wish that Camilla would be called Queen Consort (after the Queen's passing, which happened much faster than anticipated). This all was/is to avoid tensions with the public who still were quite reluctant to see Camilla as a more positive figure, to temper down the general mood against her. To not call her "Queen" makes it, so it seems, a bit more bearable to some of the British people. Technically, however, all the other European Queens mentioned are Queen Consorts as well, just that no one calls them so. Those are courtesy titles, given to them through their husbands, who are reigning monarchs. We will see the "consort" part fade gradually over time, I think. Some, so I've heard, will start to do so after the coronation. Maybe others will follow suit then, and with time.

@DSC. In the other Royal Families all over Europe the expression "Queen Consort" never has been used. The British Royal Family have their own rules.

    7. Camilla's popularity rating is slowly improving. In late 2022 she was the 10th most popular royal with a positive rating of 39% and a negative rating of 29%. Neutral voters were 29%. Will be interesting to see if the Coronation improves her rating.

The "Queen" is Elizabeth II to people worldwide and will remain so long after Camilla's passing I'm afraid. She and Charles have a past that was distasteful for the future head of the Church of England and future king. The tragedy that befell Diana will always be connected to them. In the minds of many, Queen Consort is a generous title.

    9. I understand that Camilla wanted to be Princess Consort.
It was at QEII’s request that she take the title of Queen Consort.
When this subject comes up, Camilla always gets the spotlight.
      That guilty wicked woman.
Charle’s involvement is seldom talked about.
      He is innocent ????
Enough said, I’ll have a cup of tea and get back to fashion?

The tragedy that befell Diana had absolutely nothing to do with Charles and Camilla. That was down to travelling in a speeding car, driven by a drunk driver whilst not wearing a seat belt.
