  1. As always, Queen Letizia looks beautiful, especially in red. Her gown looks very Spanish. I love the scoop neckline, the lace overlays on the sleeves and down her side, and the cuffs.

    3. I think she´s worn this before, and if I remember correctly, it was at a previous Pascua Militar ceremony. In any case, I like it a lot.

    4. Chère Tulipe33. The gown is by Felipe Varela.
A Spanish fashion designer who worked and studied in Paris.
In 1994 he set up his own studio/workshop in Madrid and established his brand known as Felipe Varela. Queen Letizia appears to have been a faithful client over the years.

That deep cherry color and style of gown look perfect on Letizia. Love the lace inserts too. She looks gorgeous! Felipe isn't bad either...MD

Interesting dress an a lovely red color. Are the shaded parts also lace or s the fabric just shaded like that? Hard to tell from the pictures.

  6. This is a gorgeous, beautiful stunning red embroided gown, the color is sublime. The embroided pieces are exquisitely done, just enough. The coat looks great. The diamond and ruby earrings look wonderful. A splendid presentation

The use of the darker lace cutout and overlays to define shape and form of the gown is both brilliant and stunning! The perfect dress for Letizia.

Gorgeous red dress for the Queen and like what I can see of the fur collared cape as well. King Felipe also as handsome as always.

  12. It's been very commented in Spain her new ring. A simple gold band with the words "amor" and "love" with a Fleur de Lys. Obviously a present from Felipe and what a wonderful present. A simple band with no diamonds or precious stones but with the words "love" in English and Spanish.

    1. it's incredible that Letizia is not in the top ten of expenditure in clothing and Olympia of Greece, Sophie Rhys-Jones or Beatrix of York spend more than her.

    2. Interesting list, however I wonder if all those new items were actually bought or rather provided by the labels as a means of advertising. The latter is often the case, creating a win-win symbiosis for both the VIP and the designer label. If the items were bought at full price, the chocking thing to me is not the number of new items, but the average price per item, which - even for the more "price-conscious" ladies on this list - is close to a thousand Euros. Per item. This type of decadent expenditure (or showcasing) fits every definition of tone-deaf in the face of the current crisis in the countries that these ladies are meant to lead.
I´d like to see the list beyond the top ten.

Letizia wears relatable pieces that the average working professional woman who earns a decent salary would wear. She also wears clothing again and again like the average person does. What bumps her total up is the gala outfits like the dress worn for the Qatar visit.
Meghan should not be included in this list. She does not do royal work, spends her own money, and we don't know how much is borrowed or rented.

von Letizia habe ich nichts gelesen. Am wenigsten Geld mit 15000 € hat Kronprinzessin Victoria ausgegeben.

To include .jewellery in these prices is not appropriate. Most royal ladies wear real jewellery inherited from earlier generations, often 100 years old or even older. Even new REAL jewellery will be used by many new generations either as they are or redesigned. Very little COSTUME JEWELLERY is used.
And "these ladies" do not lead their countries. Even their husbands hardly have any real power in today's Europe.

Interesting the points you both make. I think there is a lot of ‘win-win’ amongst the royal ladies with their wardrobes and also the top stars, VIP ladies and women who are often in the spotlight.
I think ‘rent-a-dress’ is becoming more and more popular.
The price I find hard to understand is for a designer wedding dress e.g. 200 thousand Euros and more.
But it’s nice to see the efforts being made to rewear and recycle the gowns/dresses in their wardrobes.

@deadeggs Part of the royal mystique, is to put on a display of wealth. The tiaras, the luxurious fabrics, furs, carriages, all serve to make people believe that they retain wealth handed down through the ages, that the masses can only dream of. Who knows if the price of the dress is deliberately inflated, and who is to say that the precious stones sewn into a garment are not replaced with something less pricey while the original is returned to the jeweler for a small fee. The moral of the story is, do not believe everything you see, and even less what you hear.

Th colour suits her and the shape too. But what an ugly dress with those embroideries and see through patches.
