I like the ethnic print of the Longchamp skirt. It looks quite African, which may have been why she bought it. Good on her.
With those shoes, it should have been slightly longer, otherwise the length is correct for boots, which would have been too hot for Florida.

I used to live in FL and swam at this complex most days. The renovation was approved when I was there, so it’s great fun to see the royal couple at the newly reopened facility! This is also the home of the International Swimming Hall of Fame and I’m sure they were thrilled to have a visit from the princess, a former Olympic swimmer. As for the fashion, I really like Charlene’s outfit, especially the skirt, although it feels a little heavy for south Florida, even in January.

  4. This was a perfect event for Princess Charlene. I love her skirt and she looks very pretty. I think a different top, perhaps in a mauve shade, would have looked better, but she seems to prefer black.

What a worthwhile event for the Prince and Princess . Certainly near and dear to Princess Charlene's heart. She looks exquisite, chic and just plain stunning. No need for lots of jewels and other embellishments. I so admire her style and her spunk! Both of the royals look completely at ease and in their element. I love Longchamp designer. I have bought Longchamp handbags but never worn the clothing. The skirt is so versatile.

Would've been nice if they had split so that one of them could've attended Pope Benedict's funeral given Monaco's catholic history and present. Princess Charlene afterall is one of the few women to be eligible for the privilège du blanc at the Vatican.

    1. I hear what you say @Anon 6/1/23 02:42 but I imagine the Florida event had been planned a long time in advance.
At least the princess was able to attend the ceremony for Monseigneur Barsi.
Maybe there will be a memorial services in Monaco for the Pope.

Pope Emeritus Benedict did want a simple service. There were only two invited delegations. It may be in keeping with those thoughts, and the funeral of their own Archbishop Bernard Barsi that they did not attend. Benedict's funeral did not have the usual turnout there would have been for a standing pope.

A Catholic queen or princess does not exercise the privilege du blanc at a papal funeral. Only at an audience or papal installation. There is so much confusion regarding the Privilege, so much misinformation

Regarding the funeral of Benedict XVI, in accordance with his wishes he had the simplest funeral possible. He did not want a State funeral.

@6/1/23 22:35 There is no misinformation on my part. Obviously my comment did not suggest that Princess Charlene would've exercised the privilège du blanc at the Pope's funeral, that would be simply ridiculous. Those were two very separate parts of my comment.

I only suggested that since Monaco is one of the few remaining catholic monarchies it would've been nice for either the Prince or the Princess to attend the funeral. I only brought up the privilège du blanc as an example of the relationship between Monaco and the Vatican.

Thank you @6/1/23 14:36 for the clarification!

Charlene looks very stylish, the skirt is absolutely beautiful and very flattering for her figure. This black top however is not the best addition. The turtle neck and heavy material are more suited for a winter outfit, while the skirt has a more summery vibe.
I do like the combination with a black top, but would prefer a more open neckline and lighter fabric.

  12. Just an observation and certainly not a critic.
No bouquet of flowers for the Princess?
It goes to show that culture in one country is not the same as in another.
In my opinion, this applies to fashion also.

WHAT, the party’s over already !
But before I follow your instructions, Cher Anon 9:13, I must go around and confirm that all the bottles are empty.
Anti wastage is becoming more and more of an issue.
I’m all for it, you know.
So, looks like it’s back to cooking, cleaning and dusting. Haven’t had the duster out for a good two weeks now. But then it’s been Christmas, you know.

The young lady in t-shirt presented her with the multi-colored flowers she is holding.
@deadeggs you need to get a hobby, you spend too much time on the blog.

      The results were a catastrophe.
Certainly not a chance of joining the ranks of Dior, Chanel and the likes 🙁
