This is a nice summery suit with real ladylike accessoires. But because Máxima is Máxima and maybe she loves to make us smile, she ditched her belt and used that big fancy string from the window drape instead. Same color as shoes and bag, so no problem. Or is it? :-))

Ha ha, yes. Maybe she thought it was lacking something and whipped it off a curtain :)

    2. The curtain tie was my first thought, ugghh. Otherwise, an excellent, fresh, updated look. I'm not mad at the matching accessories and top, I'd prefer this over some outlandish combo.

    3. I think you hit the nail on the head. She has been wearing those baggy around the top of the thighs trousers lately (which I think are most unflattering anyway even if the suit is quite nice) and she must have thought her trousers were in imminent danger of falling down. Since she is very resourceful she grabbed that curtain cord (window drape) you describe to hold them up.

Very stylish. Looking summery but professional. Shame the hair wasn’t the same as at the football.

  3. Très joli tailleur-pantalon à un seul bouton ; mignon petit sac à mains de la même couleur que son haut noué par un cordon ? et escarpins de couleur Camel ; très chic !

NIce pantsuit and blouse, however the "drapery tie" belt should not be a part of this outfit.

  6. It's for a business meeting so as trouser suits go, it's okay. However, as with Crown Princess Mary last week, I prefer something with a bit more colour. Like the toning shoes, bag and top. Always like to see the Queen working in her own area of expertise

Very good choice of a pantsuit that is also low cost, love the color of the top and coordinating complements… but WHY Máxima WHY you have to tie what looks like a monks rope around your waist?

One can like Maxima or not, but I simply wonder if you have an idea of what a contemporary outfit is.
No monks, no ropes, just a very trendy summery professional look, which matches well with her accessories.
      10/10 for Maxima this time.

    3. I am all in favor of a touch of fantasy, or trendy accessory etc however I think that here the "drapery tie" or "monk rope" is out of place. The suit is lovely and very summery while the "belt" is far too heavy to be compatible with the outfit. On some beach or safari pants it could be top.

Lovely suit. The fit is great. I like the warm colors to accessorize and the fact that she has kept things simple. She looks so much more professional given the tone of the meeting. Then she had to "Maximize" her outfit. Good Lord! She is so desperate to wear a belt that she does this? My dogs want their tug-o-war rope back. ~d

  10. Mooie eenvoudige frisse look, maar is dit om maar gewoon weer in beeld te komen?
Wijzer in geldzaken komt een beetje hypocriet over, als je zo exhorbitant rijk bent.

    2. YES Poekie she wants to be ïn view" as you call it. That is the only way she can get attention for the causes she supports. The more she can call attention to it the better.

Hoy no la veo tan mal, tenía que haber llevado la chaqueta sin abrochar así veríamos el porque de ese cordón.

Dear P, my comment had nothing to do with whether I like Queen Máxima or not, as I don’t know her I have no basis to dislike her, my comment was purely about fashion, and yes I am perfectly aware of current trends, but that doesn’t mean that I have to like everything that is trendy. I totally dislike the belt and it does remind me of a monk rope or drapery tie or e even a tug of war toy for dogs. This belt could be passable with a boho style summer dress, flat sandals and some playful hippie accessories, with this crisp suit is complete out place.
That is my opinion, period and because yours may be different it surely doesn’t give you the right to be condescending to me or anybody else, and infer that not liking a belt implies some sort of hidden dislike for the wearer. Sorry for the long explanation but your passive aggressive response to my comment is out of line.

      Well, no passive response.
      This is your interpretation.
Ok, keep your fashion views, which are so old in my opinion.
      Sorry.

P, are you now the official troll of this site? I though that we were to opine on outfits and such , not on the participants preferences, how do you know that that her fashion views are old? Because she don’t like a rope tied around a lovely pair of white pants? I am young and generally don’t care much about the dated and boring outfits of some royals but trendy doesn’t necessarily equate with flattering or elegant. You find this belt lovely and trendy, and I respect that, but you should also respect the fact that I like many others find it horrendous.
