The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited County Durham

On April 27, 2021, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited a family of farmers in County Durham. The fifth-generation family-run farm uses tools including grass monitoring, land rotation and feed sampling. Afterwards, The Duke and Duchess met young people supported by the Cheesy Waffles Project, a charity for children, young people and adults with additional needs across County Durham, at the Belmont Community Centre.

  1. Lovely! They always look so at ease around children and animals, down-to-earth and approachable. Love it.
Nice and suitable clothing for an outdoor appearance.

I agree Rosalyn. They always look relaxed when they are in the countryside, or with children. I suppose they can truly relate having a young family of their own.

  3. Always nice to see them out at these semi informal events. They have so much fun when competing against each other as well. Good to see them so relaxed too after the last horrible couple of weeks.

  5. I love to see them in their "farmer" apparel :-) They seem perfectly suited for each other in temperament and talent. They looked great and obviously enjoyed this engagement. It goods to see them laugh. Catherine's sweater is very pretty especially with the collar of her blouse peeking through.

They both look good. Relaxed and comfortable in the environment they are in. Love Kate’s sweater.

Oh well. I guess she will never get over the ambition (ego?) of showing off her fit body in skinny jeans. Royal standards aren’t as relevant as the need to ‘differentiate’ and stand out for the physical appearance. Nothing as important. I guess even her (otherwise shallow) sister got smart about this. At least Pippa moved on with the times. If not with the inner awareness. Not so much the eldest Middleton offspring. It’s ok. I suppose there’s nothing she can do wrong (unlike other ladies who married into the BRF!) She is everyone’s darling. The one who will never do anything but be the trophy wife. Skinny jeans included and all.

    Yes, only two potential outcomes.

    1. This comment will not be published. It’s ok, you need to‘manage’ the content.

    2. Unlikely as it may seem, comment gets published. Backlash ensues on how (take your pick):
    - disrespectful of all Kate’s other work this is (counter: that’s no reason for skinny jeans! important regal work can be done outdoors when one dresses in more appropriate, less off-showing attire!)
    - rude (counter: there’s a difference between rude and polite - even somewhat respectful! - pointing out of sartorial ego ness !);
    - mean (evil? trolling? outrageous? ridiculous?...) and disrespectful. Counter: let’s be balanced. How about this: all respect for Kate in lots of respects (including finding her own version of balance between pressure of royal expectations and her love of William the person, not the future king!) but that doesn’t justify her fondness of tight (painted on) outfits. Feeling some insecurity here.

There you go. Feel free to attack. Not taking it personally (you wouldn’t make it personal anyway, would you??).

All the best. Let’s see if it gets published. Not holding my breath, that’s for sure !

@CH: It's not your comments I find disrespectful as I do your attitude. You have a very high opinion of your own opinion and supposed authority about Catherine and her sister.
Perhaps if you projected less of yourself in your narrative we might be able to decipher what you're really trying to say.

So many words, so little substance, so much hate. Why not simply: skinny jeans, ugly, don't like it. I would agree with that. But the rest (for example: implying that the Duchess wants to show off etc. - )is hate speech. She simply loves very skinny jeans, what a pity. Full stop. (Ann.-)

Catherine looks great and so appropriate for this event. I especially like the first greenish colored jacket she wore with the tassel boots. It is such a sporty, but classic look! The skinny jeans look great on her and show that the duchess can be stylish and casual at the same time. Great choices for today on the farm!

I also prefer the first jacket. The Barbour one seems a couple of sizes smaller, as if it shrank in the dryer or she was wearing Charlotte's one.... I think it is high time she retired it, she has much better ones. Not a very appealing look especially when coupled with the skinny jeans. I know it's an outdoor event so dressing down is OK but it is not very pleasing for the eye, a normal straight cut jean/trouser would have looked better. Maybe next time...

@CH, I don’t see a reason as to why your post won’t be published, it’s your opinion.
I don’t completely agree with your analysis about the correlation of skinny jeans and ego. I think these type of pants only look good on some body types ,and Kate certainly has it and like many other young women she follows the trend.
One thing that I do agree with the general nuance of your post, is this mass adoration about everything she does or wears, is bordering on sycophantic, and lately is being extended to most of the British family.... if one dares to criticize their fashion, beware!! Some of the readers would just start attacking such opinion.
I generally like her style, and specially lately that she seems to wear younger trendier clothes, but when I don’t I will just say it period.

Those 17 years old tassel boots are still alive, how wonderful! She must really like them and so do I. They can we call long lasting and of good quality. (Btw, my favorite long boots are from italian Geox and they are almost ten years old). Her skinny jeans doesn't bother me, suits her. First outfit is great.
