On the occasion of International Women's Day, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa released a support message for Bright Sky app, which helps victims of domestic abuse and their loved ones. The Vodafone Foundation Luxembourg and Femmes en détresse (Women in distress a.s.b.l) have worked together to launch the new app aiming to provide support and information for those impacted by or know someone involved in an abusive relationship.

The "Bright Sky" app offers free of charge support services, gives information on support centres and gives the opportunity to learn about different types of abuse. In her message, the Grand Duchess recalled that we can fight against all forms of violence against women and girls, so that they can live in safety, with respect, equality and dignity.

  1. Très joli style de veste ou longue tunique ? J'aime beaucoup ses motifs modernes tricolores qui conviennent bien à son teint et sa couleur de cheveux ; avec son maquillage délicat, c'est parfait !

  2. Political or legal support and practical civic help for abused girls and women, that is actually the most important thing that our western societies have to demand on Women's Day, and of course not only on March 8th. Thank you dear Maria Teresa for your tireless efforts in this regard.
Regarding fashion: the jacket looks great on the Grand Duchess, finally not a stark black and white ensemble.
And the new hair color has a very rejuvenating effect on her.

In my opinion, Duchess Maria Teresa uses too much strong makeup and I think she spent too much time in the solarium, so her face is a bit burned - red.
Jacket: I'm not sure, not bad, but she had better

    1. Lea, I totally agree. And the hoizontal stripes/patterns don't do her a favour. Nothing about fashion here in my humble opinion. (I do let the politics out as the title of this page defines :)

Don't know where to start: the boxy jacket that looks horrid, the heavy brows, or most everything else. To much negative, so will stop now from saying anything else. cali

  5. Looks like photoshop weren't available for "re-touching" before the press release was put out. Very bad photos.
But jokes aside, her support, I'm sure, is well appreciated. Thank you madam.

On the fashion side - I think the jacket has potential to look better, but it needs to be in a minimalistic, tailored, sleek style, letting the pattern of the fabric do the talking. Get rid of the big lapels, just a simple round neck at the collarbone level, no buttons (maybe just a concealed eye and hook at the waist level), slim-fitting sleeves, worn with a simple white camisole and black pencil skirt/trousers and the whole outfit would have looked way better - it is how I would wear it myself, anyway. The way it is now is too busy, too much going on and not very flattering for her body. She has shown that she can do much better than this.

Beyond fashion - she is championing a very valid cause and she has been supporting this campaign for quite some time now. My respect for that!

  7. It's wonderful to see royals from many countries championing this cause. Thank you G.D. Maria Theresa. As for fashion, I very much like her matching earrings, and her hair.
