I am with you. To me she looks nothing special in the looks department. If it weren't for her privileged status, expensive clothes and jewels i don't think anybody would notice her. I don't really understand the hype about her so-called beauty, just a plain average tall skinny girl like million others out there... I know there will be many commenters saying that i am a troll, a hater, or that i should not say anything if i dont have anything nice to say. But i am not a hypocrite and i say things as they are. She may be a very nice girl, with a warm and sweet personality, well-educated and well-behaved - nothing to comment there because i do not know her, maybe she is indeed all of those things, kudos to her - but i have eyes to see and beautiful she is not... to my eyes at least. Go ahead, start bashing me now.

    5. Anonymous 9:32, I really hope that nobody will call you a "hater"! People use this term so easily nowadays. But allow me to say that I really don't understand your comment. I belong to those who say that Beatrice is a natural beauty! Such an elegant young lady!

@9:32 You are entitled to your opinion, as we all are. Pointing out her status, expensive clothes and jewelry comes across as envious. I am not saying that you are, but it sounds that way. You "say things as they are", but physical appearance is subjective, not fact. It is merely your opinion. We all have different opinions of what beauty is to us. It is certainly nothing to argue about. I don't understand the need to express such distaste for a person's physical appearance, but to each his own.

    10. Anonymous5/12/20 22:39

You don't have to like it. But people are allowed to express their opinion - many people do find her beautiful.

      It's all subjective anyway.

Thank you Coralie and Anon 10:49, i appreciate your comments. Indeed, what I expressed is my own opinion and I was not trying to impose it on anyone because, I agree, we are all entitled to our opinions in a free world. By the same token, I don't like if someone is trying to convince me/us that she is sth that I don't believe she is, but to each their own (opinion) indeed... And by the way, being elegant and being beautiful are not necessarily equal, people use these terms often as interchangeable but they are not, one can be physically beautiful and have absolutely no aesthetic sense or grace or elegance, and vice versa.... Thank you. Anon 9:32

There are probably billion ways to define beauty.
Beauty as a kind of taste.
      Beauty as a mathematical relationship.
->Euclid (325 - 270 b.c.) was the first to describe this ratio between two
numbers, which is equal to around 1:1.618 and
was first called the golden ratio in 1835 in a mathematical textbook by
      Martin Ohm.
Beauty regarding to the time of the Greek Classical period.

      Beauty.....

Beauty as a king's status as supreme ruler which is never disputed.
      Beauty of the Catholicism.
Beauty IS USED FOR EVERYTHING when one story is "finished" (no more arguments).

Beauty is just semantics, unfortunatelly, but good taste as decency not.

I did exactly as you advised, that is, Google, key words, Greek classic period, golden ratio etc.
It came up with a photo of Bob Dylan in his underwear ?????
I'm going to have to call it a day dear Hannah as it all seems a bit over my head.

    22. Back for my final word and before you suggest I get psychiatric help, may I just re-confirm and clarify the results I got after I followed Hanna’s instructions to understand (or to try to) the mathematical formula and the golden ration concerning beauty etc etc.
Maybe there’s a bug in this ancient formula at the moment but my search came up with, as I said, Bob Dylan (old photo) in his underwear and with his latest underwear models. Apparently, for years he has had as a secondary interest in marketing both ladies and men’s underwear.
If you want to see the details with your own eyes, visit, via Google or another search engine…..

But Hannah, I’m out of this subject now due to lack of time. Haven’t even had a moment for two days now to see what’s happening with Queen Maxima’s hair saga. And that ain’t good news for me.

    1. The second photo, picturing her full-length in trousers, seems distorted -- she may have a model's figure, but those legs look unnaturally elongated. I guess it could be an illusion created by pairing very high heels with very long pantlegs.

      Fame hungry?

She's given interviews largely because she has a book to promote - it's a perfectly legitimate way of gaining publicity. She's a journalist, she writes stuff, she wants people to read it.

She also represents Buccellati jewellery - there's an expectation of a certain level of exposure.

Personally, I don't see any difference in her profile or the number of interviews she has given.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous5/12/20 23:50

@Anon 1:37am, if she wants to promote her book she can give interviews about it, donate some copies to schools, libraries or underprivileged young people, etc. but not promote Dior clothes and Bucellati jewellery.... I find it very shallow. She clearly doesn't need the money, so why else she does it for if not for fame? I have the same opinion about Charlotte Casiraghi, by the way, or Claire and Felix, and whomever else from royal families who go down the fashion modelling route, for me it "vulgarises" (for lack of a better word) their position. Every time the royals (especially the royal ladies) step out in public they are effectively promoting one or the other fashion house/designer that they are wearing, and that should be enough, no need to compete with fashion models on glossy magazines..... And this is just my opinion, of course, I don't expect everyone to agree with it.

Consider that she works/needs to work, and in the scope of her job there will be some promotion of self, her physical work, and Buccellati Jewelry. Being a member of a royal family does not mean a state income for all. So often what members of a royal family do to earn an income is criticized, but so are any financial handouts to these same lesser royals. At some point I think it is best to accept that the life of a modern royal is going to continue to change and it won't look like the fairy tales we grew up with.

Point taken about the donations etc. Anon 2:50. Some of the monies raised from it are going to charity.

However, she isn't actually royal - she's just married to the untitled nephew of the ruling Prince.

She earned her living modelling whilst a student so I don't really see the difference now - it gives her an independent income.

She does quite a lot of quiet work for charity in particular the Red Cross - it might be nice to see that promoted a bit more.

I understand your point, I just don't think I agree with the "fame hungry" qualification.

Beatrice has a fresh, natural beauty that is apparent when not in makeup. Some women need a makeup artist to achieve what she has naturally. I love the jacket. That is how to suit denim pants. Those legs go on forever! My first thought when I saw the Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior dress was that she takes the peasant out of that peasant dress. I think she could make a flour sack look chic.

Imo Beatrice is breathtakingly beautiful -- but it is a particular genre of beauty that we can also see in photos of such gorgeous Italian women as the actress Monica Vitti and the socialites Afdera Franchetti and Marella Agnelli. It is perhaps slightly too much on the "exotic" side to appeal to everyone.

I find her beautiful and so incredibly elegant, with the sort of elegance that no stylist can create.
I am a little confused by the harsh judgements about the way she promotes her work, and as usual the comparison with other Royals that generally don’t have their own agenda but dutifully follow whatever the “ Crown “ dictates.

Best comment by a mile. Pierre is in love with her, clearly. Pretty much all that matters.

I for one think she is pretty, gracious and seems to have a good inner strength that comes with the experience of many very different situations, from being a Borromeo (may not say much to most, as someone who lived in Italy, it does say something to me), to being’on her own’ in NY, to being an advocate for the left wing social policies, to becoming a Grimaldi (even if officially styled as Casiraghi). And the mother of two little boys with a husband who decided to sail the Atlantic to get Greta to the States. I don’t think we have an appreciation for the diversity of her experience in her young life. I find her remarkable. Maybe I can even call her a natural beauty. Her inner strength and grace come through in my opinion. Lily A

If that is how we want to define her beauty, then I agree, without forgetting to add that every happily married (or in a loving relationship) woman is the most beautiful in the world! As another commenter said, she is pretty, full stop, no need to exaggerate as the most beautiful woman ever .... And Maria (penso che sei italiana visto i tuoi commenti e come la proteggi con tanto ardore manco fosse tua figlia), just because she is Italian it doesn't mean that she is automatically the most beautiful of all, dai per carita' - and by the way, she is definitely not the typical Italian beauty, quite the opposite in fact, so relax please, nobody is offending Italy or the Italians ....
