The Duchess of Cambridge took part in a judging panel for the photography project Hold Still to select 100 images from more than 31,000 entries in her Hold Still photography Project. The project was launched with the National Portrait Gallery in May. Judges on the panel included England’s chief nursing officer Ruth May, director of the National Portrait Gallery Nicholas Cullinan, writer and poet Lemn Sissay and photographer Maryam Wahid.

The Duchess invited people of all ages across the UK to submit a photo which they had taken during lockdown. In the six weeks that the project was open, 31,598 images in total were submitted. Carried out over a six-week period, the project aimed to document the spirit and mood of the country during the coronavirus lockdown.

The Duchess of Cambridge helped the selection of 100 final images from more than 31,000 submissions made to Hold Still. The final 100 images will be showcased in a digital exhibition to be launched from Monday 14 September. The Duchess wore a new printed midi dress from Zara.

  2. Premier choix judicieux de ces photos dont une qui est très marrante : un petit garçon avec sa maman qui n'a pas besoin d'arroser les plantes hi, hi, hi... Kate porte une jolie robe à dessins modernes mais j'espère que le décolleté en V n'a pas de biais gansé comme nous voyons sur le mannequin ; je ne le trouve pas "tendance" pour une jeune femme !

    I don’t know how they will ever narrow down the submissions from so many entries. The photos above speak volumes, and I am sure the others do as well. What a terrific way to document this time in our history.
    Kate’s dress is a little meh for me. Very predictable and safe. I don’t get as excited to see what she is wearing as I once did. I expect to see her in this type of dress and get a happy surprise when she changes it up.

    I think the Duchess looks lovely. Perhaps because the parts of the dress I am not as crazy about are hidden. It looks nice from the side and the back but I don’t care for the neckline, especially on the model. Her initiative is so wonderful and a great way to bring people together and see this shared experience from the many different vantage points of each other currently and for history. Major kudos from me!!
