  1. Lovely summery blue dress. Like the style, the pattern and the length. Afraid the espadrilles are here to satay for the summer but they are okay with this dress.

So these are this lady's THIRD pair of similar wedges??!! The other two had leg laces; this pair has a strap. Spanish taxpayers beware!

And... this lady is too small & thin (dare I say 'skinny'?) to wear such heavy platform shoes, especially with this sleeveless dress - it throws her proportions off.

This might be the highest pair yes; how high can she go until she reaches King Felipe's height?

Wearing different brands of shoes made in Spain is called supporting Spanish fashion which seems to be part of her job. It is also called product placement. Wearing them so people can see them in motion. She also has them in another two other shades of pink, tan sandals, and black canvas too. Also, black, brown, and tan leather. The best sightings are on their summer vacation poses. If you are going to count a woman's espadrilles be accurate. She earns a salary, unless you subscribe to the theory that she does nothing. Are we counting the husband's shoes too or do they cost the taxpayer nothing?

    2. Fully agree with anonym3:33. Wedges are not a luxury product!! Indeed it is promotion of local products and in addition with high temperature they probably need a rest before being used again.

The queen is beautiful as is her blue halter dress. However, the shoes look large and clunky on her slim legs.

Love the print. The cut of this dress shows off her toned arms and Letizia is giving me a serious case of arm envy. Her ponytail looks great. The espadrilles are a perfect choice for this summer look. Love that she is showing her support of Spanish designers/ brands on their tour.

@Laurel, your comment is obviously ill intentioned, possibly because as you have stated before you don't like Queen Letizia, I am sure you have your reasons, maybe she hasn't been nice to you when you have been invited to the palace :-)
Spanish taxpayers pay the for the Royal Family salary, and they choose how to spend their monies. 3 pairs of espadrilles don't come close to a pair of Valentinos or Laboutins, very much favored by other royal ladies, and she is promoting Spanish industry, so maybe she knows something you don't.

So happy you have called out Laurel's comments. I would like to echo Angie's sentiments that Letizia is not too skinny. Unless you are willing to say a woman is too fat, you are out of line saying a woman is too thin. Both are rude and none of your business by the way. You don't have to like her. You don't know her, so I can't imagine what she has done to you to make you dislike her so much, but it does not give you the right to body shame her.

  16. Fashionwise, her hands seem to be the weak spot of her looks. Sounds strange, given the effort she puts in taking care of herself to look good. A negative side of weight lifting is that you develop masculine hands, which is seen on the photo where her hand is photographed waving. Add to that her trimmed nails given her nail beds are not long and she ends up with a man's hand. Hands could be jewellery to the woman, look at Maxima's fantastic hands. Not everyone is blessed with such hands but Letizia certainly has the means to make hers go better with the rest of her polished looks.

    1. And what's the deal of the hands and being a person who works for her country. I think that Angela Merkel or Steinmeier (the head of State as Felipe) both do a great job and nobody speaks about their clothes.. She is a worker, not an actress, she must work, the rest is a nonsense for the country. I bet that most people in Spain do not care about her clothing at all, in fact you have to look it up in foreign media to find something.

We can never be sure how much effort she puts into looking good other than the speculations fed to us in the press the immediately become urban legend. Being well groomed at this level is a must. For whatever reason, she has rarely been seen with a conventional manicure. even in pictures from her TV days. Some people do have preferences, that go against popular thinking. Perhaps Maxima's fantastic hands are directly related to her million dollar salary while this lady makes do on one tenth of that amount....and closely monitored by the likes of the poster up thread. Oh! the horror of having a man's hand! If that hand is shown in isolation it would be difficult to tell who is belongs to, but the man's hand angle is this week's talking point in some circles.... 3.

This is a new low. You run out of things to pick on so you search as hard as you can, blow up pictures, and come up with man hands? I have seen some large, unattractive hands on women before, and these to not compare. I think you are miffed that she does not have a manicure or paint her nails. If she wore polish, there would be arguments about the color and if it was appropriate for a queen. Her style is minimalist and why should it bother anyone? She is one of the most consistantly well dressed royals.

How do you suggest she makes her hands look better? By letting her nails grow, or wearing polish? She has never favored either, and frankly there is very little ,one can do with what nature gave us, no , I don't think that her hands are masculine, and I don't think that they have anything to do with fashion, just a pair of hands with clean cut nails.

  18. Wow! This dress is one of my favorites, so perfect for summer. I love the print and style/cut. It just looks so effortless. As for the shoes, she has several pairs, and these shoes usually don't cost that much. Great choice for summer style, as they can be dressed up or down. I'm flummoxed by the comments on her being too skinny and her man hands. :(
