Belgium’s King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are undertaking a three-day state visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The programme includes diplomatic and economic meetings in Astana and Almaty. On October 12, 2026, President Tokayev welcomed the King and Queen to the Akorda Presidential Palace.
Afterwards, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, accompanied by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, visited the National Center for Children’s Rehabilitation in Astana. The King and Queen were briefed on the comprehensive care provided to children with developmental disabilities. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde spoke with children, their parents, and medical staff, and took part in an interactive programme.

The orange dress and hat are very beautiful. For me this style of coat doesn’t flatter Mathilde; coat would be better with widened shoulders or no excess around the hips. The style works beautifully on a figure like Catherine but not on Mathilde’s shape where it causes her to look disproportionately small shouldered. But the dress is stunning on her as is the hat.
ReplyDeleteThe red dress, with the red coat and hat is wonderful and suits her well.
ReplyDeleteBut the other coat has to much pattern, in to many colours for my taste. Only in different blue shades, Iwould have liked it.
I’m not sure about all the pattern on this coat. And ties at the waist? It looks like a very expensive coat.
ReplyDeleteNice fall colour. The ruch bodice is not one I find attractive. It is a design element that does not flatter.
ReplyDeleteWow, very strange visits...
ReplyDeleteWhat her clothes are strange???
DeleteWhat do you find strange specifically about the visits? I can see that they were accompanied to the rehab (?) centre with quite an entourage which looks quite heavy for the poor patients! Kazakhstan probably hadn’t received many Western European kings so yes the visit does look somewhat different as they do their best but it’s a different best, trying super hard to get it right. Is that what you mean?

DeleteDo you think these visits are not prepared in advance ?There were Belgian academic people who came with the king and queen especially to see the rehabilitation centre for children because it is the only country in the world who uses the systems prescribed by specialised doctors. The Belgian royals are the first Western kings who where invited by the Kazakh president. I have seen a lot more pictures on the Belgian websites of that rehabilitation centre. Queen Mathilde helped the nurses with the children and they all were smiling. When you know Queen Mathilde a bit, you know she has a heart for children and is always very gentle when she can interact with them. They didn't had to try super hard to get it right. They just did their excercises they are doing probably every day but now there were visitors to see which systems the doctors overthere use to make the children better.
Lovely orange red coat and hat. I'm less keen on the second outfit. It's good for the visit they are making but just a bit busy overall. Nice to see them supporting this programme
ReplyDeleteI love Mathilde’s second look. She looks very beautiful and the contrast of the coat with a black outfit is beautifully balanced.
ReplyDeleteFor the official part of the state visit Queen Mathilde wore a red coat and red dress. The hat I think must be new. The dress is beautiful and suits the Queen. The coat I do not like very much. For the visit at the revalidation centre for children the queen wore a coat by Natan which was new in 2015. I prefer the cut oh this coat for Queen Mathilde. I also preferred the red lace coat she wore when leaving Belgium.
ReplyDeleteI like both these outfits. Especially the pink dress, very attractive. This was a wonderful visit.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, there is a developing economic partnership between Belgium
ReplyDelete(and other European countries) and Kazakhstan, hence the reason for this state visit.
On a fashion note, well...I am iffy about Q.Mathilde's ensemble: it is surely eye- catching but I also get Cardinal vibes!
Regardless, the Queen looks beautiful and I love her pumps, mini- bag and jewellery.
The second part of the Royal Couple's visit is so remarkable and meaningful that I will set any fashion remark to silence.
La deuxième tenue est tout à fait à mon goût ; j'adore le choix de ses boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteI would say she looks classy and elegant.
