On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan visited Aomori Prefecture to attend the 80th National Sports Festival of Japan and to observe local conditions and developments in the prefecture.
The National Sports Festival of Japan is a nationwide multi-sport competition between prefectures that has been held since 1946. Its purpose is to promote sports among the public, improve physical fitness, and contribute to the development of local sports and regional culture. This marks the first time in 49 years that the event has been held in Aomori.

DeleteEmperor Naruhito seems to favour his beige jacket. Every time we see him on an event or for a visit he is wearing this jacket.
