On September 19, 2026, Queen Máxima visited the exhibition Hella de Jonge – Closer to Their Souls at the Resistance Museum in Amsterdam. The exhibition, featuring 37 works by Dutch artist Hella de Jonge, is on display at the museum through February 2027. For the occasion, the Queen wore a silk georgette blouse and matching skirt by Johanna Ortiz.

    A no for me, pattern too busy and poorly made. The pattern does not line up on the side seam,which in most quality pieces do. Reminds me of a snake pattern which I guess animal print being in vogue, just not my liking.

    Although Queen Letizia wore often lovely dresses by Johanna Ortiz, this long brown print outfit doesn't suit Q. Maxima. I hope these brown prints are not what we are going to see often the coming seasons, because i do not like it at all. Not on myself and not on others.

      I am of the same opinion. When I see 'brown is the new black' I'm not impressed. I do like Queen Maxima but this outfit is just too much pattern. The artist is similarly wearing an overly patterned outfit.

      I totally agree. And for the most part Queen Maxima's fashions are quite lovely and impressive - I'm just not crazy about this one. Hard on the eyes.

    If outfits used psychedelic substances, this is how they would look. This fabric could be useful as a Rorschach test - sure better suited than for a gown.

    That is a lot of pattern on Maxima’s outfit. The artist (I think it’s the artist?) is wearing a lot of pattern, too, so maybe that was the thing for this event.

      Yes I think you might be right. The skirt is actually quite beautiful and could be reworn with a white or black top and I think it would be lovely.

    I really like the skirt. The blouse is OK, but together they're a lot of pattern. Max is pulling it off better than I'd expect.
    If you're ever in Amsterdam, do take the time to visit The Dutch Resistance museum. The stories of so many brave people deserve to be seen.

    This is wild. I mean, the top worn with trousers in one colour - yes. Or vice versa. Worn together, as an ensemble, like she did - psychedelic.

    I feel the overall pattern, colors etc... very dense and overpowering. The combination of colors and complex pattern of the fabric, I feel is the culprit. The dress itself as a volume of fabric, the length is near the ground. Lovely photos though she looks happy and engaging.

    Vraiment trop de motifs sur cette association ; de plus, il me semble qu’avec la longueur à mi-mollet, son allure aurait été bien meilleure !
