Princess Anne visited Nethercott House in Devon to mark the 50th anniversary of Farms for City Children. The Princess is Patron of Farms for City Children. At Nethercott House, the Princess met pupils and teachers from John Donne Primary School, who were caring for farm animals and learning about farming activities.
Founded by Sir Michael Morpurgo and Lady Clare Morpurgo, the charity has welcomed more than 108,000 children and young people to its farms for immersive residential experiences, enabling children from cities, particularly those experiencing inequality, to spend a week living and learning on working farms.
The Princess Royal looks really fantastic here. A lovely jacket and well fitting trousers for a visit that you can tell from her demeanour was perfect for her. As well as being a great author Michael Morpurgo has started an excellent charity.

ReplyDeleteFarms for City Children, what a brilliant idea. My heartfelt wish would be that in cities we keep enough contiguous green space for wildlife to pass and humans to be daily in nature, but where cities have already been too concreted over, ways to get kids to agricultural and wild lands is a good second.
