On Saturday evening, 26 September 2026, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark hosted the traditional Badge of Honour Dinner at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg. This year’s dinner was held for the Army. Queen Mary wore the Danish Armed Forces’ formal dress uniform for women, which she first wore in January 2019.
The Badge of Honour is awarded to members of the Army who have completed 25 years of service in the Danish Armed Forces. The medal was instituted on 26 September 1945, on the birthday of King Christian X, and is awarded only on this day each year.
The Badge of Honour Dinner is held annually on a rotating basis for the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Emergency Management Agency.
