Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida are making a three-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam’s President Tô Lâm. On 15 September 2026, Vietnamese President Tô Lâm and his wife, Ngô Phương Ly, hosted an official dinner at the Tonkin Palace (Government House) in Hanoi in honour of King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida.

For the occasion, Queen Suthida wore a golden-yellow Thai Dusit dress. Her accessories included the Chakri Diamond earrings, a gold braided belt featuring the Chakri Diamond emblem, and a silver niello gold clutch from Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, adorned with the royal initials “S.T.” in white gold and set with 408 diamonds with a total weight of 4.80 carats. On 16 September 2026, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand visited the Bac Son Martyrs’ Monument and the Mausoleum of former President Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where they laid a wreath and stood in silence to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs. The Bac Son Martyrs' Monument is a national war memorial located on Bac Son Street in Hanoi.
