Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako, Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko open the 20th Asian Games

On September 19, 2026, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan visited Aichi Prefecture to attend the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games, held at Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya. Prince Akishino, the honorary patron of the Games, and his wife, Princess Kiko, also attended the ceremony.

On September 20, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako will watch basketball, while Prince and Princess Akishino will attend a water polo competition. The Games feature 43 sports, 71 disciplines and 469 medal events, with more than 17,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions taking part. The event is held on a four-year cycle.

    Love the lace jacket with high collar, great colour, the pearl button makes it so elegant. Both ladies are dressed so nicely.

    I really do love Princess Kiko's suit. The collar is so elegant with the white piping. She always looks so serene and pleasant. From Joann
