The Royal Family Receives Heads of Sweden’s Foreign Service

On 25 August 2026, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and Prince Daniel received the heads and envoys of Sweden’s foreign service at a reception held in the Vita Havet Assembly Room at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Sweden’s foreign service is managed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and employs roughly 2,700 people worldwide.

The reception was held in connection with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ annual meeting of senior officials, which brings together heads of Sweden’s foreign service from around the world in Stockholm at the end of August.

Representing the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Sweden’s diplomatic missions abroad were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, the State Secretaries, senior officials, heads of departments, as well as ambassadors and consuls general from more than one hundred locations around the world.

    I like that they invite people to the palace, making it so much more special acknowledgment of their service. Love the blue outfit on Victoria and the Queen in a lovey suit.
