Princess Aiko wore a light blue blazer suit and white silk blouse for visit to Lake Biwa Museum

Princess Aiko of Japan visited the Lake Biwa Museum and medical and welfare facilities in Shiga Prefecture. At the Maibara City Community Comprehensive Medical and Welfare Center, Princess Aiko observed students engaging in physical activities using rehabilitation equipment and also tried boccia, a sport originally devised for people with disabilities.

  7. I mean, this is certainly one of the moments that I feel sorry that she cannot inherit the Chrysanthemum throne and be Empress in her own right one day. Instead, the Japanese Imperial Court and the Government are doing weird bends, twists, and turns to keep men on the throne at all cost. Yes, tradition is a strong argument, I am aware of that. Still ...

  8. Japanese royal women are for the most part well educated, well traveled and accomplished. Think Princess Takamado, for example. My opinion is the government knows any of them could easily take the throne. But something with their Shinto religion and the Sun Goddess has to do with decisions on this.

      as long as they bend the rules if and when Aiko marrys so she remains in the royal house in an important position and inheritance. Not have to give up everything as her cousin had to.

  9. For Anonymous 14:18. I believe there was an announcement that female members of the royal family will not have to give up their royal rank and title if they marry a commoner. I'm assume that means they will be able to perform royal duties as they are now. I haven't seen anything yet that clarifies how important their positions will be or inheritance, etc. Would be nice to know that.

    Aiko looks amazing, what a beauty. Unlike others I’m not a fan of the pants, but she is lovely in spite of them, lol.
