On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Royal Welsh Show at the Royal Welsh Showground in the village of Llanelwedd. The Duchess of Edinburgh, who previously attended the Royal Welsh Show in 2003 and the Winter Fair in 2018, made her first visit to the Royal Welsh Show in her capacity as Patron of the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO), a role she has held since 2012.
During her visit, the Duchess of Edinburgh toured the showground and met exhibitors, young farmers and volunteers. Running through Thursday, 23 July, the Royal Welsh Show is a four-day event covering everything from livestock and equine competitions to food, horticulture and rural skills demonstrations.
Lexy London Gudrun Helibore Dress

Charming dress, charming lady!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is lovely. The haircut makes Sophie look younger
ReplyDeleteLove her shorter haircut.
DeleteThe shorter hair looks fabulous on Sophie. Shortening her skirts would also contribute to a more youthful picture.
ReplyDeleteShe’s in her 50s; we don’t have to look younger and younger you know. Looking young isn’t a useful or even logical goal.
Delete@16:48 thank you for your comment.
Delete50 is not old these days. A real woman wishes to look younger all the time. I love what she did to her hair. The summer dress is nice just too long as usual.

DeleteI agree!
DeleteAnonymous 21:30, you say: "A real woman wishes to look younger all the time." But then if a woman says: "Okay, I am 50 and look like 50, that's fine" is she no "real woman"? Is she a "fake woman"?? Or an "unreal woman"??
DeleteThis is a great fair- visiting look for DOE.(I do wish we could see her shoes though!?)
ReplyDeleteThe colour suits her too.
Her new haircut looks wonderful!
This dress and bag works perfectly for the event; it is summery and comfortable with a twist. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI just love the print, colour and style of this dress on The DoE. I can’t see a full figure photo however, it would appear to be a long dress…very sensible cut and style on her! My only quibble is the belt…
ReplyDeleteSophie looks absolutely gorgeous. So happy and so summery (in the proper, refreshing, gentle, non-heatwave version of the word!).
ReplyDeleteMa che bella Sophie, l'abbronzatura fa la sua parte e il vestito è delizioso come il suo sorriso.
ReplyDeleteLovely colour fit no hair length. Best overall look in a long time
ReplyDeleteFull figure photo is here: https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod/images/e5680c4d-59e5-49d0-a65e-0c42fb6786b4.jpg?resize=980:* . I am the odd one who does not like this dress at all, nothing on it. I like Sophie's shorter hair and her face, but that's all.
ReplyDeleteSophie looks gorgeous! Her shorter hair has completely changed how she looks--its added a new level of vivaciousness to her appearance. Her outfit here is perfect for the occasion--pretty, floaty, feminine, and summery with lots of room for movement.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Not a fan of the new hair cut. The dress needs to be shorter, and maybe it would all look better.
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful duchess is 61 not in her 50s
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess looks wonderful in this pretty summer dress. The only quibble I have is the length of the dress, and I like longer dresses. Her hair looks so gorgeous, the new hair cut - shorter is so becoming, she looks so much younger than her 61 years! She looks feminine, elegant and very attractive.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good dress on Sophie. Unlike many of her previous dresses, it is meant to be the length she wears it at
