Queen Letizia is too casually dressed, some of the ladies around her look smarter than she does, perhaps they even bought something new for this important meeting, this is why she disappoints in her elevated role.

No Virginia, when you’re the Queen of a country (no less!), YOU set the tone. It’s always been thus. In this case, I suspect that she deliberately dressed elegantly but low key due to the shorter-planned visit to the medical team leaving for Venezuela emergency; then she’s gone straight onto the long planned event.

She looks very nice in casual clothes, perhaps a belt same colour as pants to cover the closure would be a nice finish

Having read previous comments about Queen Letizia's outfits, I've noticed that the Spanish commentators appreciate their Queen's simplicity and absence of pomp. For a meeting with AECID workers she looks appropriate. I would even say that she looks like one of them, just without a red vest. But for a reception in a palace, she really looks too casual. She could have changed her outfit, or at least add some accessories (a belt, for example, as Anon.15:16 suggested.)

Anon. 07:26. I don't understand you. How a reception in a palace is related to the tragedy in Venezuela? I haven't noticed that any person in the last three photos are wearing mourning outfits.

The recepción was obviously 10 minutes after the farewell...I think that many people here do not take their pills on time...have you read the title of this post??

Anon.12:58. Have you read the second passage of this post? And how the reception could take place 10 min. after the farewell, if it takes at least 18 min. to get from the airport to the Zarazuela palace?

Anon. 06:49. Please, check the information before writing. The Queen DOES live in the Zarazuela palace. It is the private residence of the Spanish royal family.

Anon. 12:53/12:58. You made me do some research in Spanish. "Conocida como El Pabellón del Príncipe, la residencia oficial de los reyes está situada a un kilómetro del palacio de la Zarzuela". Zarzuela is defined as a palace in the sources, that I've read. And is 1 km too far to get quickly to your house and to change your clothes. And please don't tell me that her schedule is planned the way it has no gaps between the engagements.

Dear 18:44, she’s not Maxima in personality and Spain is not Netherlands in terms of the citizens relationship with their royal family. Letizia dresses superbly for her context. Additionally her budget is very different from the Dutch, which is one of the wealthiest Royal families by far. I find Letizia never boring and never roo simple, but every single time, perfectly dressed for the occasion.

@20.47 That is your opinion. With another budget you also can look modern and fashionalble. Look in the streets. They are normal people with a normal budget and they look better then letitzia

So many other countries have been in Venezuela since days shortly after the catastrophe, no pomp, no especial send offs, they just showed up to help and continue to be there working under the sadest and horrifying circumstances, this ceremony is totally self serving and unnecessary, just show up! I agree with the person that thinks that some women need their medicines, most of them have not even seen the farewell in this post and you have said, there is pomp.😉, obviously It is not news for a fashion blog and only seen in Spanish media...not for other countries, only appeared in Spain.

A rainha está vestida de acordo com os eventos. Com simplicidade e elegância. O Brasil enviou a Venezuela equipes de resgates, hospitais de campanha, medicamentos e alimentos não perecíveis. E somos um país de língua portuguesa. Obrigada!
