On July 24, 2026, Princess Anne, accompanied by Sir Timothy Laurence, visited the Emirates GB SailGP team on the practice day ahead of the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix 2026 in Portsmouth. Princess Anne is President of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). She also visited the SailGP Tech Hub in Southampton, Hampshire.
During the visit, she met SailGP athletes from Great Britain and across the international fleet, toured the Emirates GBR F50 race boat, explored the championship's cutting-edge wing technology, and experienced the SailGP simulator. The Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix takes place in Portsmouth on Saturday and Sunday.
Looking very happy there, and oh for a 75 year old, she appears to be in marvellous shape physically.

DeleteYes, Anne is wearing boat shoes. She is 75, why shouldn't she wear comfy shoes. We old fogies don't tromp around in 4" stilettos; even a lot of younger gals don't wea such shoes. And since Anne is Anne, I do believe she will wear what she jolly-well wants to! My goodness! ~Ruthie

The Princess Royal is wonderful, incredible work ethic, its hard to keep up with her. She is here, there and everywhere, with Sir Tim by her side, splendid. I love her casual wear, she looks well groomed and appropriately dressed. Its great to see her wearing boat shoes, very wise. She is in really very good shape and condition, with her timetable, she is very much constantly on the move.
