On June 15, 2026, Queen Mary of Denmark visited LEGO Charity in Billund and helped pack backpacks for children staying in crisis shelters with their parents. The Queen had previously participated in the traditional packing day several times as Crown Princess, and this time she helped pack backpacks in her new role as Queen of Denmark.

Backpacks for Children in Crisis Shelters is a collaboration between the Mary Foundation, the Ole Kirk’s Foundation, and LOKK (the National Organisation of Women’s Crisis Shelters). The backpacks are distributed to crisis shelters in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The backpacks given by educational staff to children staying in crisis shelters contain not only basic necessities such as a toothbrush, towel, and clothing, but also toys.

In 2025, around 2,600 children arrived at crisis shelters with a parent. These are the children who are offered one of the special backpacks each year. Since 2008, around 40,000 backpacks have been distributed to children in crisis shelters.

I love the blouse, it looks really good with jeans. I also like it loose as shown in the model. I like the casual look of the jeans with the smarter look of the blazer; the whole ensemble suits Mary well.

There are many different pairs of trousers in the pic and to me they all look stylish and suit their wearers. Sorry you can’t see it and got stuck on your “o” key.

The blouse is beautiful. My only wish was that she had worn it loose instead of tucked into her trousers. The true beauty of the shape and style of the garment is lost by tucking it in.
Such a good cause as well, helping children in crisis.

Interesting observation. Made me look back! … I think the interest in the blouse is all at the top and whilst it can also look hanging out it still looks good and a bit more professional tucked in

I’m jealous. Not many of us are slim enough to tuck a shirt in.

Somehow queen Mary always manages to look approachable without overdoing anything, which is an art, and she never oversteps the royal boundaries, very clever.
