On Friday, June 19, 2026, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène attended the departure of the third edition of The Crossing Viareggio – Monaco Water Bike Challenge, the sporting and charitable event organized by the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation.
For the first time, this event connects Viareggio in Tuscany to the Principality of Monaco through a brand-new 225-kilometer water bike route across the Mediterranean.
Over nearly 24 hours of continuous effort, seven teams made up of four elite athletes each will take turns at sea in order to reach Monaco, with arrival scheduled at Larvotto Beach on Saturday, June 20.
This edition also has a special environmental dimension, as the race crosses the Pelagos Sanctuary, a vast protected marine area shared by France, Italy, and Monaco, and the largest European sanctuary dedicated to the protection of marine mammals.
Prince Albert and Princess Charlène will be present at Larvotto Beach to welcome and congratulate all the teams taking part in this sporting, human, and charitable challenge.

Charlene's looking fit, she should encourage Albert to workout!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to all the teams for a safe passage overnight. To my eyes, it looks like her brother in photo 5 and that he’s outfitted to participate.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fashion, she’s dressed for a casual outdoor event but I’m not a huge fan of cropped cargo pants. I think they look sloppy, but that’s my own personal nit.
Charlène a choisi des engagements qui méritent le respect. On la voit très heureuse et souriante
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Some strange photos and angles here. The men in blue shorts either side of Chris Froome… and it’s frankly hard not to notice the awkwardness in the hug photo.
