the princess looks fabulous. The dress is a perfect fit. I really like her hair this way without the hanging tendrils. Her smile for Kurt is so fun

Very Jenny Packham (so much her style I didn’t need to look up the designer). I don’t think it particularly suits Charlene though. Not enough colour? Wrong shape? It’s an expensive dress and glittery but just doesn’t really “take off”.

Exactly the same for me: I guess the simple style of Packham is not doing enough for Ch. You must be very slender like Catherine or Mary to wear her dresses well ( and dark hair?)

7:15 I wrote the same below at the same time as yours… needs a darker complexion or hair colour!

Charlene isn't very slender? Well I think differently. The dress just doesn't fit. It makes her look larger. Needed to be a size smaller. Shiny and yet plain dress.

      Fully agreed.

In my view this unstructured dress is not the most flattering of Charlene's evening gowns. A stretch fabric has no inherent shape, so it follows the contours of the body, and unless there are details-- a little ruching here, a draping there, a neckline or waist trim... in short this dress needs only a little more use of detail to really highlight Charlene's unique figure. With the small earrings and pulled-back hairstyle added, the entire look is look is a touch too severe for my taste.
That said, I always love seeing Charlene wearing a minimalist look and in beige (natural?) - both are the signature elements which I enjoy as part of her personal style. The crystal embellishments are gorgeous, and perfectly capture Charlene's ethereal vibe. Lyra

She looks absolutely stunning, really beautiful, although I want something to grab my eye. Maybe statement earrings or makeup (smoky eye or red lipstick). Also, is there a small bulge in the middle right below her chest?

Dull dress. Jenny Packham of course.

  6. Oh, this JP Gown fits like a glove, perfection. Fitting beautifully, so perfectly aligned with her body shape and height. Love the color, suits her well. The diamond studs look good, plenty of sparkle happening. They are a good size, with the glitter of the gown, she has shown restraint in a good way. Her makeup looks excellent, natural. Not sure what color her shoes are.

Charlene has many other gowns which I prefer. This one must work best I think on a brunette (so there is some colour contrast; whereas I think this colour doesn’t work for Charlene’s current hair colour and skin tones) and a straight tall athletic figure (eg these work better on Catherine). The upper part across her chest looks uneven, and these dresses just don’t forgive our natural bumps. I’m all for women wearing what they want and dislike comments such as “such and such shouldn’t show her arms” because we only get one life and there’s no time like the present to dress how we want, but comparing this to her many many other gowns, this isn’t a favourite for me. I also see in these pics how much better an original face ages (Kurt Russell) than a changed face (Goldie Hawn), and feel angry at the weird cultural pressures for famous people to “correct flaws”, fill lines, inject stuff, and pull taut their beautiful natural faces. I long for this trend to end.

    2. The changed face is called survival. If she wants to get more jobs she must continue to look youthful. The bills keep coming and if you do not pay them the lights get cut off, they repossess the Rolls Royce and no more trips to Rodeo Drive and Kurt might leave her for a younger version, and everyone will forget you ever existed.....It is sad to be alone. I was smart, I got a prenup from my husband and had half of everything put in my name for good measure!!!

These type of gowns look great on Charlene.

I like that we see her fresh natural face without touched photos, she is a regular lady of her age.

  10. Magnifique dans cette robe qui épouse à merveille sa silhouette élancée mais je trouve que sa couleur est trop fade pour contraster avec son teint ; rien à redire sur son
maquillage délicat - Je lui envie ses boucles d’oreilles en diamants !

This dress is not for her in design or colour. It’s too muddy in shade for her. The design does not flatter her waist.

I don't think that any woman should be thinner than Charlene in order to wear this gown. For me, Charlene is perfect for simplicity, but: Just a tiny bit more open neckline and in this case, just one of those side tendrils making a wave beside her face, possibly just bit more rose on the lips - these things could have made a difference for this very severe and in a way, "cold" dress.

Gorgeous dress, minimalistic in shape but certainly not in fabric. She looks like a mermaid covered in diamonds.

Just a gorgeous dress, even if it does wash her out. My other quibble: P Charlene is one woman who does not need the shoulder pads!

You can always rely on Jenny Packham for glitzy evening wear. I can’t say this is my favourite look. Something around the collar area looks ‘off’. I prefer Princess Charlene hair in the softer curl. But, it’s good to try something new.

Given her swimmer’s shoulders, this moulding dress isn’t the best choice. Not bad per se, but not optimal. Plus there is soo much glitz and glitter on the top, hardly leaves a chance to look at the wearer’s face. She had a good string of very good looks, this one isn’t quite the same in my opinion.
