For the occasion, Queen Suthida wore a violet-toned Chud Thai Boromphiman, one of the most representative forms of Thai national dress. Princess Sirivannavari wore the traditional Thai Dusit dress, crafted from Yok Mai silk woven by Thai artisans and dyed with natural indigo, created by the fashion house Tirapan. Brigitte Macron wore a design by Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton.

I wonder why President Macron is wearing a pair of aviator sunglasses! Strange!
Fashion wise QS as always looks stunning! She’s a truly beautiful woman.
PS - Dressed in the country’s ‘national’ dress looks pretty.
Mrs Macron has a staple style when it comes to evening wear. It’s usually Vuitton.
Shame there are no tiaras. The Thailand vaults must be bursting with pieces just ready to be worn.

    1. Monsieur Macron has eye problems. Hence why he kept wearing sunglasses outdoors (in some instances even indoors). Also for the official welcome ceremony earlier that day, and for other events before this particular state visit.

Why are "aviator" sunglasses strange ? Although the weather is less hot, the sun is still shining. It is not very healthy for the eyes not to wear sunglasses when the sun is shining. As a matter of fact I like "aviator" sunglasses for men. President Macron is looking good with this style. A pity he is very little otherwise he is a handsome man and his suits are fitting always well.

      @ Lowri
I don't know if they have a sort of protocol in Thailand ? In many European royal houses one does not wear a tiara when on state visit in a country with a president.

I think it's a bit rude for the king to turn his back on his wife, the queen.Do women not matter in their country? I know it's a different country and culure but not sure of the rules etc

It is just a short moment - he is posing for a handshake picture with Monsieur Macron.....

1:49 … before worrying about minuscule instants, captured by cameras, we can consider the practicalities of being humans together. In any relationship we will have to turn our backs to the other … queen or not… with very few of us thinking that is rude.

Not really, he is posing for that handshake picture in company of his wife. If Macron can do this decently, he could do it too.

I like the colors and the embroidery on Queen Suthida's dress. Madame Macron stays true to her style of evening gowns : a plain fabric (crepe, I think) with a top and long sleeves in another fabric (lace this time). She has other dresses in the same style but in other colors. I like it, it is a style that fits her beautifully.
I also like President Macron with his sunglasses. It suits him. I like aviator sunglasses on men as well as on women.

Too old for a white dress? I haven’t heard that before. I’d say all colours are possible for all people always.

Apparently nowadays one must come from Asia, Africa, the Far or Middle East to have succes with ones clothes. European clothes of European leaders are not appreciated very much. I do not like that our own leaders are made ridiculous by certain individuals. I hope there will not be a day one would regret not to have supported our own kings, queens and presidents. Many of you are not seeing or feeling that all the leaders of these countries are coming to us to buy everything they can pay with their fortune. They want to have what we have. In no time old Europe will be pressed to death between the East and the West. Yes from the West we also have fear that they want everything what we have. We already have seen a number of examples which show us a European image of a future which I do not like at all..

That is exactly what I thought! I hope it’s better looking up close than in these photos. It looks like a cheap wedding dress (I’m sure it cost a lot despite looking cheap). The visiting ladies, on the other hand, look incredible. Their dresses are gorgeous.

  9. All the ladies look wonderful. I appreciate the nationalistic outfits worn by the Queen and Princess. They are very elaborate in their detail and bring honour to Thailand. They stand in sharp contrast to the more subdued yet elegant gown worn by Brigitte. It is interesting to see designs from other parts of the world that we wouldn't normally be exposed to.

  10. I'm literally speechless! (It doesn't happen often!) The Queen looks magnificent. Her traditional gown is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The intricate beading, on bodice, sleeves, shoulders, superb. Its a work of art. The color scheme is gorgeous, the beadwork color, on point. It is faultless. Love the fabric pattern of her skirt, very attractive. The piece at the back, I love. Her pearl necklace is stunning, these pearls are luminous, of great quality and substance. The pearl earrings are a wonderful choice, size and co ordinating well. Her small evening clutch (I love the size and shape of this clutch) and shoes, color wise well matched. Love her hair up, makeup on point. Sensational!
The Princess equally beautiful, her traditional gown is stunning. Again wonderful beadwork on the bodice of her top. The colors are beautiful , love the pattern of the fabric of her skirt. The yellow belt really offsets the blue of her ensemble. The ladies are always beautifully attired and groomed, always faultless presentations. They must have wonderful seamstress's and tailors. To me they over ride the rest!. Her earrings are so lovely, not sure if the stones are blue aqua's but they look divine. Her bangles are gorgeous, a combination of gold and ? Her small bag and shoes are the perfect color, blending well with the colors of her ensemble. Her hair is beautifully styled, makeup is perfect, she is a very beautiful woman.
The First lady looks stunning. Her gown is very flattering, the lace top is perfect, not overdone. Love her up style hair and drop earrings.
The President really rocks the sunglasses, I love it!

I really like Princess Sirivannavari's outfit. A Thai Dusit. It's nice seeing their cultural dress.
