On May 12, 2026, the Duchess of Edinburgh paid a brief visit to the Danish Parliament in connection with her participation in Save the Children’s international conference held at Christiansborg Palace in central Copenhagen. During the visit, the Duchess received a short private tour of the Danish Parliament (The Folketing).
King Frederik opened the conference with a speech addressing the impact of artificial intelligence and social media on the well-being of children and young people. The event took place in the Landsting Chamber at Christiansborg. King Frederik X of Denmark has served as patron of Save the Children since 2002.
The international conference was organized by Save the Children in cooperation with former Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Margrethe Vestager and the American organization Sense Media. The Duchess attended the conference in her role as patron of the British children’s charity the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

Very nice fitting suit appropriate for business.
ReplyDeleteSophie looks great in this classic pantsuit. I love the detailing on the collar of the inner blouse that matches the colour of the shoes and clutch bag. The contrast keeps the outfit from being boring. She looks good with her hair up.
ReplyDeleteShe is not wearing a clutch bag. A clutch is not flat. In fashion land her bag is called an envelope bag.
DeleteTotally agree. She looks wonderful in this outfit.
DeleteSophie looks great!

Neckline of the blouse and lapel/neckline of the jacket are not in harmony. Neither their contours, nor the colours provide a pleasant combination for my eyes. Plus, this very businesslike suit does not really calls for an ornamental embellishment running horizontally across the neckline. The suit itself is quite good, but the putting together is suboptimal, as is often the case with the Duchess.
ReplyDeletePersonally I disagree. To me the blouse is eye catching in a good way and makes the outfit.
DeleteIn the previous post, Máxima wears a green dress (a lovely one) and shows how green can be combined with brown - with a certain shade of it: light beige. Exactly this light beige could go well with the Duchess' green suit, instead of her much stronger brown.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, well done! 10/10
ReplyDeleteI hope they have a heart❤️for the children (too many missing).
ReplyDeleteI wish the jacket was shorter and block heels were updated to a more modern shoe in a different color.
ReplyDeleteA great, well-fitted trouser suit for Sophie in a beautiful shade of green. I think she looks very business-like and professional for this important meeting on a critical topic.

Why do people always crititise her ? The length, blouse, trousers, skirt, colurs, jacket always wrong for you. She is doing far more for her country than you
ReplyDeleteAlmost all of us make comments about the clothes, not the people wearing them.

DeleteHow many times one has to explain this is a fashion blog. People are criticizing the way she dresses not her. I do not understand your last sentence : "She is doing far more for her country than you" :
1. To whom you are addressing your comment ?
2. How do you know what other people are doing or not for their country ?
Other people on this blog are not royal, they don't have the time or the money to do all these things for their country or for other countries. They must going to work to earn money to keep their own family on the rails. Maybe you are a priviledge person who has enough money. In these days with the situation all over the world, the cost of living is becoming more expensive every day, more taxes to pay, gas and electricity more expensive, food, etc... some average person or retired persons have not enough money to live a simple life. Think about that before you accuse other people.
This pantsuit fits perfectly. Lovely jacket and pants, fit and length with both perfect. Not so sure of the shirt with regards to the colors and pattern on the shirt, I cannot put my finger on it. Someone here might have a clue. I like her hair up style. Lovely to see her. King Frederick looks well groomed, I like the contrasting red tie.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought her pant suit was black, but now that I have taken a closer look I see it is green. In that case the brown in the collar and the brown of her shoes is not well chosen. Her hair has seen better days.
ReplyDelete@07:40 - green and brown not well chosen? Look at nature!
ReplyDelete@09:13: Nature? The sky is blue, the sun is yellow - nice in nature, but that does not mean you can pull this combo off in your clothing. Nature has its own reasons. - IMHO, as always, you are completely free and respected if you like it.

DeleteCertain greens and certain browns are going well together but these ones ? I am afraid I do not see it. Especially the stone red of her shoes does not look good. Dark or middle beige would look better, also the beige of her handbag. The appliqués of her white shirt are not necessary and not beautiful. A plain white shirt always looks better.

DeleteI - unlike you, I think this brown and green look good together and I also like the appliqués on her white shirt.
Stephanie
La coupe de ce tailleur- pantalon lui sied à merveille ; cela lui va beaucoup mieux que lorsqu’elle est en robe souvent trop longue !
ReplyDelete@15:53- a plain white shirt can be plain boring and the shoes are not brick red but tan suede.
ReplyDeleteI like the pantsuit, the shoes, and the purse just not together. That shirt I don't like at all. Good cause.
ReplyDeleteNice suit great fit. Nice shoes not with this outfit.
