On May 6, 2026, King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary of Denmark officially boarded the Royal Yacht Dannebrog at the Nordre Toldbod Cruise Port in Copenhagen, thereby marking the beginning of this year’s sailing season. The official boarding of the royal yacht is an annual tradition that takes place in May.
The Dannebrog cruise will begin on June 1 in the Municipality of Odense, after which the King and Queen will visit the Municipality of Norddjurs on June 2. Following a day at sea on June 3, this year’s summer cruise will conclude with a visit to the Municipality of Holbæk on June 4.

So, they have been to Sweden last week on the Dannebrog totally unofficially. Interesting thought. - Just kiddin' -. Love her anchor brooch.
ReplyDeleteI like everything about her outfit. Great skirt, feminine blouse, nice low profile contrasting coloured hat, coat is perfect, it doesn’t need to be longer. Lovely pin, I would like to know more about it. And the king very dashing in his uniform.
ReplyDeleteMary's outfit looks suitably nautical, though I don't know if the lovely tapered long jacket pairs well with the flared skirt. I do like her blouse though, especially the ruffled collar which adds some fun interest.

Love this super feminine outfit on Queen Mary. The details on the blouse - pin tucks on the front and the tight little ruffle around the neckline are gorgeous and really compliment the fullness of the skirt. The coat is a great addition that looks so polished. Her earrings and brooch are beautiful but for me, the hat is just ok, looks really pretty on her but I don't like the color with the deep navy. It probably looked better in person.

ReplyDeleteI like the lovely details of Mary’s blouse. She looks quite nautical and coordinated with Frederick.

Too much going on to be an elegant outfit. Prefer the more simple blouse at the bottom photos to the ruffled neck and the coat does not pair well with the wide skirt. Nice separate items, just don't go too well together imo.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteI agree. Also the hat is too refined in texture i.e. too formal for the fabric of the skirt and blouse. Lyra
DeleteI love her clothes but I really wonder if this is a practical and suitable outfit for embarking a boat.
ReplyDeleteTenue élégante mais à mon humble avis, je me serais abstenue de porter le manteau ; délicats bijoux entre les boucles d’oreilles et la petite broche !
ReplyDeleteAn old outfit. Wearing a narrow coat over a wide skirt does not look good. The accessories could be better : blue hat, light blue clutch and beige shoes.
ReplyDeleteThey do love uniforms in Scandinavia.
Comme toujours, Mary est impeccable. Le manteau était essentiel au vu de la température å Copenhague.
ReplyDeleteThe blouse looks feminine and elegant, very appealing. The coat is sublime, lovely color and I love the design of this one. Her skirt is pretty, lovely to see a rewear. I don't like the color of her shoes, but I love the color of her clutch. Her earrings and anchor brooch are fabulous, well additions.
ReplyDeleteI like everything she is wearing but not together, the items do not gel as an outfit, imo. Unless they are going to a specific event I do not understand why she has not chosen to wear trousers which I think would be more practical on a windy day for boarding a yacht.
ReplyDeleteA lot going on here and not cohesive. Bit of a miss for me which is rare for Mary.

Extremely elegant, an old fashioned delicious elegance. They always dress nautically and beautifully for this event, and she with a summery tone - but requiring a coat because in fact it’s still spring (and a cool snap across Western Europe). Each piece can be reworn in lots of combinations, so I especially love this outfit. Love!
