On Friday, May 22, 2026, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan attended the ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Japanese Association for Infectious Diseases (JAID) at the Tokyo International Forum in Chiyoda Ward.
The Japanese Association for Infectious Diseases was founded in 1926 as the Japanese Society of Infectious Diseases with the aim of advancing academic research related to acute infectious diseases, including clinical medicine, epidemiology, preventive medicine, and clinical bacteriology, while also contributing to public health and welfare.
