On May 17, 2026, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson received Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gothenburg. During the visit, the leaders held bilateral meetings and participated in discussions with European business leaders on innovation, climate, and trade. Crown Princess Victoria, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, and India’s Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar also took part in the programme.
Prior to the visit to Gothenburg, King Carl XVI Gustaf decided to confer the Royal Order of the Polar Star, Commander Grand Cross, upon Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a ceremony at the County Governor’s Residence, in the presence of Prime Minister Kristersson, Crown Princess Victoria presented Mr Modi with the Royal Order. The Order, instituted in 1748, recognizes personal contributions to Sweden and Swedish interests.
Love the flare of the skirt and the overall fit. Not keen on the sleeve length, would prefer a few inches longer or 3/4 sleeve
ردحذفSame here, usually not keen on this length except on very summery light dresses, which this one is not. But this is almost my only quibble (the other ones: just a tiny bit more openness for the neckline and just a bit less length for the skirt...), the dress is very simple and works on her thanks to her marvellous condition.

The color, Lilac is pretty and feminine. The dress is very becoming and suits the CP well. The skirt of the dress is gorgeous plenty of swish and movement, not a fan of the length of the sleeves.

حذفI can’t recall COV wearing this lilac color very much, but it’s a beautiful spring color on her. The dress is simple and modern but the flared skirt is the highlight. She should wear that length/style more often.
ردحذفA beautiful dress. The colour is lovely and the coordinating colour of the shoes too. However the shoes themselves are so excessively high and deform the look of the foot and leg. That’s a shame as Victoria is so fit and well muscled that her legs look fantastic in much lower heels. Poor Modi looks so short as he gazes up at her, but with flatter shoes they would be eye to eye,
ردحذفI’m a man, but I think your comment is so wrong. So women should never be longer than a man? So conservarive, so a women should always submit to a man, demure her self. I think Victoria should wear any shoes she want’s and not have to think about or have to get the fact about a mans length before decideing what shoes to wear. Or have to take in consideration that a man would be offended by him beeing shorter than her.

ردحذفThis dress by Safiyaa has the same shape as many British brands. When I first saw Safiyaa dresses on CP Elisabeth of Belgium and her mother Queen Mathilde, I saw immediately a complete different and more elegant look than all the other British brands.The cut was more up-to-date, the skirt of the dress was a pencil skirt and not too long. What I see here is a completely different style which I like less.
ردحذفCP Victoria is a beautiful lady with a trained and muscled body. The biggest part of her clothes are looking good on her. Good she can wear high heels with this dress. With kitten heels or block heels it would be a disaster.
I do not see why she should wear lower heels because of Mr Modi. It is not her fault that people from other continents like Asia, are often shorter than people of Europe. It is always expected from Royals that they should dress according the customs of foreign visitors. I think they should not do that. The visitors mostly dress like it is the custom in their country and don't bother to wear a western men's suit or for the women western dresses . And it is O.K. we respect them and I am sure they respect us. But, to each his own is the best we can do.

ردحذفThis dress is very flattering, feminine, a soft colour contrasting with the strictness of her bun, however, the heels are too high and disturb the proportions, furthermore, appropriate jewellery would add a touch of regal presence, in particular in the absence of queen Silvia, whom she would not wish to outshine. Let us not forget that in this important ceremony she represents the Crown and is the future monarch.

حذفWhen PoW is wearing heels which are equally high, nobody says they are disturbing the proportions. These days queens and princesses who dress simple, meaning no or only one or two pieces of jewelry are more appreciated than those who are overloaded with jewelry. On special occasions like state visits or the ceremonies of the noble prices, etc... it is normal that queens and princesses who are present are wearing long gala dresses with tiara's and diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, etc... but not on a daily basis. Not so long ago Queen Maxima received constantly remarks on the valuable jewelry she wore during a simple visit. Since then Queen Maxima started to wear less jewelry than before. Of course she likes to wear modern fantasy jewelry, but even that is less than before. I also think that Prime minister Modi appreciates a simpler approach since he is coming from a country where there is still a lot of poverty.
Virginia - It’s an interesting perspective that you’re doubting her understanding of being royal and the importance of that role and that somehow because she’s not wearing a necklace, brooch, etc. she’s not representing the crown correctly. But maybe I’m misunderstanding your comments.

Men from Asia, Africa, etc... should wear a western men's suit when they are coming to a European royal house to receive an award. Respect must come from both sides. I agree with Anonymous 08:02. Read his text carefully. Besides she is the crown princess. What should royal ladies like Queen Mathilde and Queen Maxima do ? Even with flat shoes they are taller than many men. Should they bow and sitting on their knees ? Let everyone keep their traditions and their way of dressing. The ladies from Africa in their beautiful ethnic dresses are not asked to dress like western women when they are coming to Europe to meet with queens and princesses and imo European queens and princesses should not dress like the women of the countries they are visiting, but wearing their own clothes they are wearing in their country.

The color is feminine and the skirt is beautifully cut. I think three-quarter sleeves would have completed the look more harmoniously.
ردحذفThis is a dress for spring and for a young CP. She must not dress yet like an older lady. If she wants 3/4 sleeves she will ask for. Besides 3/4 sleeves are less fashion than before. Now young woman are wearing dresses, with very short or short sleeves or long sleeves or sleeveless dresses.

Dear 18:51, I think you misunderstood me. Of course Victoria represents the Crown correctly, but at this event she could have added some jewellery to underline the importance of the event and her elevated position, just like queen Silvia, her mother, does.
