Crown Princess Victoria Presents the 2026 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award

On May 25, 2026, Crown Princess Victoria attended the 2026 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award Ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall. The Crown Princess presented the 2026 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award to Canadian illustrator and picture-book artist Jon Klassen. In addition to the award, Jon Klassen received a prize of 5 million Swedish kronor in recognition of his outstanding contribution to children’s and young adult literature.

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award was established in 2002 by the Swedish Government to support children’s and young adult literature. The award is presented to authors, illustrators, storytellers, as well as individuals and organizations that promote reading.
