On May 25, 2026, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the first final session of the 2026 Queen Elisabeth Competition for cello at the Centre for Fine Arts (Bozar) in Brussels. Finalists Maria Zaitseva and Lionel Martin performed, both accompanied by the Belgian National Orchestra under the baton of Antony Hermus. For the occasion, Queen Mathilde wore a blue dress by Jenny Packham.
Jenny Packham Electrica Dress

Jenny Packham did it again:
ReplyDeleteSoo gorgeous dress !!!
The second gala dress by Jenny Packham worn by Queen Mathilde. Just like the other red dress she bought earlier by Jenny Packham this blue dress with the golden embroidery looks perfect on Queen Mathilde. Her jewelery is kept to a minimum by just wearing diamond earrings, so that the dress can shine. This is something I like with Queen Mathilde : it is not the jewelry that must shine on an old dress but the dress which must be perfect and one single jewel which is shining and let the dress shine on itself.
ReplyDeleteOh this is beautiful. Jenny Packham can do much more than put sparkling beads on a gown. Here, the architecture, or composition, the lines, are as gorgeous as they are simple - but striking.
ReplyDeletevery nice dress !
ReplyDeleteJe ne suis pas toujours fan des tenues de Mathilde mais là elle est sublime
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Beautiful dress; I love the colour, also the design on the bodice and sleeves. It really suits Mathilde too. I like her hair up as she is wearing it here. Very good idea to just wear earrings and no other jewellery, as this would be too much with the design on the dress.
ReplyDeleteWow, queen Mathilde looks fabulous !!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular! I kinda wish she saved this for a state dinner. Really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful dress! Mathilde looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thanks God not Natan all the time.
ReplyDeleteI think Jenny Packham and Safiyaa are the best English brands which are worn by Q. Mathilde and CP Elisabeth. Queen Mathilde did not wear many clothes by English brands in the past. It started when CP Elisabeth was still studying in Oxford. She and her mother wore each a Safiyaa dress. Not long after that they both wore a gala dress by Jenny Packham. These dresses fitted them both like a glove (It has been said that Q. Mathilde visited incognito now and then CP Elisabeth. They probably went shopping together in London). Tomorrow King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are flying to the US for the ceremonies at Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge where CP Elisabeth will receive her diploma. Then the CP will return with her parents to Brussels where she will be prepared for her future role in the Belgian royal family. I hope we will see the CP together with her mother at the different finals of the Q. Elisabeth competition for Cello. Prince Gabriël will be present too at one of the finals. This year it is the first time Queen Mathilde could not assist at all the sessions. First there was her participation at the Economic mission to Türquiy and now Q.Mathilde and K. Philippe are in the US when their daughter receives her diploma. On saturday Q Mathilde will again participate at Bozar for the Cello competition.
ReplyDeleteMathilde looks beautiful in this dress.
ReplyDeleteLovely updo.

Please post more pictures...I'd like to see more of that fabulous dress. There are some clear pictures captured right before she received the bouquet. You can see how the dress accentuates her slender tall figure. As always, Jenny Packham never disappoints any royals!
