On April 21, 2026, King Charles III and Queen Camilla held a reception in the Marble Hall of Buckingham Palace to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II. The Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Camilla. Also present were Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Alexandra, and the Duke of Kent.
For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a lilac dress. She was also wearing the Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings, a favorite heirloom inherited from Queen Elizabeth II, which she has worn on several occasions, including the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March. The Duchess of Edinburgh wore a striped midi shirtdress by Gabriela Hearst.

I like this dress or coat dress on Camilla. Her dress is a lighter navy but it doesn't matter. I'm not a fan of most of Emilia Wickstead dresses but the color is good on this one on the POW. It's too loose up top. Sophie looks like she's going to a different event, but I like the dress. The Duchesses of Glo looks good in red. Prs Anne wears a nice coat. Good to see the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra who looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe DoE seems rather casually dressed for this event. It's not a bad outfit - just not event appropriate.
ReplyDeleteThe DoE - what was she thinking. Looks like she's wearing her morning gown
ReplyDeleteI think she was probably thinking, well this dress is lovely, I enjoy wearing it and it will be perfect for the event.
DeleteThe style of Catherine’s dress is pretty, but I don’t think this particular color of lilac suits her the best. The shirtwaist style of Sophie’s dress looks a bit casual for the event. I like the tailored elegance of the Duchess of Gloucester’s red suit. Camilla and Anne both look appropriately attired and much the same as usual. Kudos to the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra for attending and for their steadfast service to their nation and the monarchy.

The Duchess of Edinburgh is wearing a beautiful duster.
ReplyDeleteI like the Princess of Wales' lilac dress. But she is copying the shoulders of Queen Camilla's dresses : shoulder pads are placed to far on the outside of the armhole to create wider shoulders, which is not beautiful. Queen Camilla's dress is not too bad this time and she is wearing again the beautiful black shoes she wore yesterday. The beautiful red coat worn by the Duchess of Gloucester is ruined by the brown suede boots.
A weird idea to have a birthday party for someone who is passed away.
ReplyDeleteBut then why not? I've learned that the late Queen as well as Diana still are very popular. William and Catherine also.
DeleteWell it’s a memorial - a time to get together and fondly remember someone they have loved. How is that weird? Is it not lovely? But now you mention it, I think a full on birthday party for someone who is dead but you have loved is a super idea! Thank you.
DeleteA very Beautifull dress wears the queen. Princess Anne also so very good.
ReplyDeleteThe Princess of Wales wears a good dress but looks somehow ill at easyJet. Sophie wears, alas, an absolute miss: not suitedeur for the festival occasion and fà à à r too long.
Sorry, self-thinking iPad, I hope you will understand the mistakes: ill at ease; suited; festive.
DeleteSophie does not look well. I do hope she is okay. Maybe the colour of the dress this is not her colour. She is a Summer toning, white should look better on her with her blue eyes or something in blue.
ReplyDeleteThe family group picture is priceless. So glad that the Duke of Kent and his sister, Princess Alexandra, had been able to make it. Is Prince Michael so poorly off that he truly could not attend? Bummer. Fabulous event to celebrate the life and legacy of Her Late Majesty QE II. Plus her wonderful dress exhibition just next door in the King's Gallery.
ReplyDeletePeople can change ( there clothes) to another level.
ReplyDeleteLove the lilac💜
The Q looks great. The other members of the family have their own style. Very nice indeed.

Catherine looks absolutely beautiful! The Duchess of Glocester and Anne also are very elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe Princess of Wales looks lovely, her hair, dress and jewelry are perfect. Queen Camilla looks great too.
ReplyDeleteLove the waist detail on the Queen’s coat.
ReplyDeletePR and DoG both look really nice in outfits that fit well and show their personalities.
Same comment as others on DoE, which is the dress is much more casual than what the other royals are wearing.
POW’s dress is okay but I think the pearl necklace ruins the whole look. Understand that it’s probably worn to match QEII’s pearl earrings, but the necklace doesn’t work and looks cheap.
The men look very handsome and it’s great to see several of the older royals in attendance.
Sophie, please hire a tailor to shorten you dresses and skirts. I love stripes and the length shown on the model makes the dress splendid. The raspberry sherbet colour and style of Kate's dress is beautiful. The pearl necklace is perfect, Camilla also looks very regal with the silver embellishment on the waistline and sleeves of her navy outfit.
