On April 28, 2026, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the presentation of the 27th edition of the WOMED Award, an annual initiative by Vrouwennet in collaboration with UNIZO and the Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Through the titles “Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Promise of the Year,” Vrouwennet honors women who excel in growth, and impact.
The Queen presented the biennial WOMED Award International to an inspiring Filipina entrepreneur. As the financial leader of a large-scale agricultural cooperative—entirely run by women—she combines entrepreneurship with a strong social impact. This 27th edition of the award ceremony took place at MIX Brussels in Watermaal-Bosvoorde.
