King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are undertaking a working visit to the United States from April 13 to 15, 2026. On the evening of April 13, 2026, the King and Queen attended a dinner at the White House in Washington at the invitation of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Prime Minister Jetten also attended the dinner. For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a new orange dress by Claes Iversen.

Excellent look for Maxima although the colour is a bit autumnal, imo.
ReplyDeleteThe First Lady is sporting a ‘I don’t really care, do you?’ dress, unless someone was busy with a Sharpie. Queen Maxima on the other hand, nailed it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously...what a catty remark about the First Lady.
DeleteIf someone said that about your Queen Maxima you'd have a fit.
Janet
Love your comment! 😆
DeleteLooks like her husband’s signature done at 4 am & his penchant to put his name Everywhere!!🤣
DeleteAnon 10:44 you nailed it! She stuns no one and who really cares? I know I don't. Maxima looks amazing as usual.
DeleteThe dress is by Erdem and the design is black floral appliques, not Sharpie scribble. Your comment is rude and unnecessary. Both ladies look nicely dressed. Judy
DeleteI agree 10:44. Not catty - just how she comes across.
DeleteMelania looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI think the tension has become too much for Maxima. The style of the dress is neat, but the color is far too monotonous. And once again, far too much fake hair.
Stop the hair comments or go somewhere else to live out your negativity.
DeleteToo much? Like Kate you mean? No this is stylish and well done…
DeleteMy opinion is totally opposite. Maxima looks gorgeous in a stunning sophisticated colour and outfit. Melania looks vacuous.
DeleteThe tension is too much for Maxima? She has nothing to worry about. her name wasn't in any files
DeleteThe color of Maxima´s dress is perfect. It´s orange and orange means DUTCH. That's a patriotic and loyal statement. So it's perfectly chosen of her. Her hair looks pretty, there is nothing to complain.
DeleteA new Claes Yversen dress. Really sophisticated, royal. She is looking adorable chique
ReplyDeleteMaxima porte à ravir cette nouvelle robe ; j’espère que nous la lui verrons plus souvent de
ReplyDeleteretour au pays !
Wowza, two beautiful elegant women. Máxima (with the help of excellent Claes Iversen) succeeds to be both at the same time: simple and extraordinary. I don't *really* like what the First Lady is wearing, but she looks nevertheless great in it.
ReplyDeleteI like everything about Queen Maxima's appearance!!! I do not like the First Lady's dress.
ReplyDeleteFor those who criticize the colour of this elegant creation, please bear in mind that the Durch royal family’s name is the House of Orange, the shade of this dress is most certainly intentional, especially in the presence of president Trump. Small but proud country!!!

Maxima and Melania appear to be dressed for different seasons.
ReplyDeleteie Maxima for Autumn and Melania for Summer.
Cate.
Since Washington, D.C. is in the midst of a heat wave (highs in the high 80s / low 90sF), I would say the First Lady’s choice is extremely apt. And for a Queen of the House of Orange, likewise for HM Q Maxima.
DeleteMaxima looks fabulous in this burnt orange dress. The draping of fabric from the shoulder into a side flounce is spectacular and dramatic but not ostentatious. She stands in sharp contrast to Melania whose dress is hard on the eyes. The haphazard pattern of the black embroidery or whatever it is just doesn't look attractive IMHO. If I had to look at it for longer than a few minutes I would get dizzy.
ReplyDeleteWell then perhaps she should not look at it, or perhaps you have an inner ear problem with your dizziness.
DeleteDid Mrs. Trump not have time to iron the dress after a signature was put on it? Or is it a drawing with a marker? Maxima is beautiful, the color refers to the House of Orange, beautiful jewelry, and not over the top. Appropriate for a business visit.
ReplyDeleteHer husband picked his favortie dress. There's probably ketchup on it somewhere....
DeleteProbably a marker…..
DeleteRest assured with the class and money of Melania, her dress was steamed to perfection. I have never seen a signature this long, so pretty sure it is a pattern.
DeleteTrump looks quite grumpy in all the pictures. I do like the black and white dress on Melania Trump, weird pattern or not. Queen Maxima, well, nice enough but nothing outstanding. I truly expected something more flamboyant.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct about President Trump looking grumpy or unhappy in these pictures. I find it interesting and a pity that this website chose just these pictures. There are MANY pictures of him and video out there of this greeting that show him with a big smile.
DeleteMaxima wears a “ decent” elderly lady dress, quiet chique, with alas, a bit too much “ blond” hair, but modesty is good in this situation. ( for next time: the colour of your nails must be in tune with the dress)
ReplyDeleteIf an "elderly" lady wore that dress she would be one great looking grandma!
DeleteI would absolutely love Maxima's dress in a different color, envisioning a coral pink. She looks slim and her hair is beautiful, doesn't matter whose hair it is.
ReplyDeleteMaxima looks great in the dress, the colour representing the house of orange. Her hair looks nice. I find Melania’s with the bold design a means of drawing attention to herself instead of her guest, typical. The fit is nice on her and in a different setting it would be appropriate and nice. I do like her shoes.
ReplyDeleteMáxima looks beautiful in her orange dress, representing the Netherlands in its color. I like the diagonal drape-type detail with the waistband. I wasn’t sure I completely liked Mrs. Trump’s dress - the black design is a bit much - but looking at the pictures more, it does coordinate nicely with the white exterior of The White House and the black stair railing.

Yes it certain is in keeping with the White House. Thanks for the chuckle
DeleteSpectacular dress worn by the First Lady.
ReplyDeleteMaxima and the King look sophisticated and beautiful. I am so upset at the evil being perpetuated by the others that they deserve no comment.
ReplyDeleteThank you 14:40. My thoughts exactly.
DeleteLove this dress on the Queen. Great fit, length, and the shoulder to hip detail makes it modern and sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteSo far Máxima hasn’t missed on this trip. She looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteJolie robe pour Maxima avec son originalité
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
QM stunning dress has me in mind of a similar dress worn by Mrs Trump a few years back. She wore an emerald green by Herve Pierre(I think!)This burnt orange dress is super flattering and fits QM perfectly, beautiful tailoring.
ReplyDeleteI also like Mrs Trump’s Erdem dress. Erdem like Natan can be hit and miss, but this is definitely a hit. Both ladies look lovely.
Lowri.
Maxima looks very good in the orange and the design of the dress is quite flattering on her. Her hair is quite pretty. I appreciate that she either curled her hair or chose a wig. The First Lady, Melania looks tres chic! The subtle texture and pattern on the white part of her dress complements the black pattern so nicely. The fit of the dress is perfect and Melania's hair is beautiful as usual.

The KING looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
