After the accession ceremony, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie have been undertaking royal visits across the country. On October 3, 2025, Guillaume became the new Grand Duke of Luxembourg after taking the oath, following his father’s abdication. On April 24, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess visited Esch-sur-Alzette.

The festivities began in Belval, a true symbol of the renewal of the country’s south. Between the blast furnaces and contemporary urban spaces, creativity, youth, research, and innovation were highlighted. The celebrations then continued at Place de la Résistance, where concerts and performances brought the public together in a spirit characteristic of the Minett region. The next visit will take place on July 10 in Troisvierges.

I am not sure this outfit is the best choice for Stephanie’s body type. It is a nice, well cut, refined silhouette, however she needs clothes selected to draw the eye up, not cut across two areas. It puts her at a disadvantage.

20:06 fairly written. The colour suits her very well but the joined up trousers don’t work. I think that one pieces don’t work for most people for must body types. This could have been gorgeous as a trouser suit but really not working as a one piece. The poor belt sits unsure what to do with itself. Everything she wears would sit better and be more successful if she would leave her handbag at home and learn to leave her hands free, which would naturally allow a better posture. I get that she has some nerves in public or perhaps conscious of covering over her tummy, but holding the bag or crossed hands across it changes how clothes sit for the worse and draws attention to what she tries to hide.

I agree. It’s too bad because the colour is lovely for her.

    3. Basically I agree with 20:06's theory. But it must be so constraining to have to make all her clothing choices dictated by such principles. And to have to make purchases from specialised shops, among a limited number of options, the way Qn Camilla is doing.
The Gr-Duchess can go ahead as she is doing... But we have seen some quite nice clothing pieces on her, she could do more re-wear.

You put that quite nice, my thoughts also. She is a beautiful lady and the cut and colour are quite nice, but alas, not nice for her.

My immediate same thought when I saw the photos. The style of this outfit doesn't suit Stephanie's body shape and size. There are many. many other outfits that would have suited her better.

    1. I agree, I like the neckline but the garment itself is really unforgiving. Does she not have an adviser to say politely that something is unflattering?

    2. Anonymous26/4/26 15:54

2:34 of course she has endless access to many types of advisors, and millions to buy access to many more. But what we do not know is indeed whether it was a fashion advisor who advised her to wear this - or whether she chooses her own clothes and enjoys doing so rather than asking others. More power to any woman who chooses her own way.

Natan is not a good design house for Stephanie, she would do better with a Carolina Herrera

How lovely Stephanie looks--this soft shade of yellow is wonderful for her. I love her hair this way too--a great style for her as we get to see her beautiful face. I do have one issue--not sure I like how the trouser part of the jumpsuit is fitted on her. The photo on the escalator is a case in point.

the designer did not put straps, is that her bra straps we are seeing! should have worn a strapless bra

I disagree - I believe the spaghetti straps are the same color and fabric as the jumpsuit. The Grand Duchess obviously had them added to the jumpsuit, just like so many other royals who have things altered in some way from the original to make them more appropriate. That said, I wish the straps were a bit wider - to me, for a strap addition, that would look better.

      Delete
    2. As 15:50, I think the straps were added intentionally at her request.

  9. Anonymous25/4/26 22:55

I think this jumpsuit could have been more successful in a darker color, where all the small nits don’t show as much or at all. Also, using a clutch and removing the thin wrap would clean up the outfit so the focus would be on her beautiful smile.

Good suggestions. As she’ll have at least one lady in the background accompanying her, who can carry for her what she needs, I think even better is no handbag and no clutch. The men don’t carry one, she doesn’t need one, and hands free would make a difference in how she can greet people, her posture, the look.

@7:22, the men in suits will have four pockets in their trousers and at least two inside their jackets. So it seems to me any such comparison is inaccurate.

The men have pockets in their suit. Where a woman must leave her kleenex and GSM and sometimes a lipstick if she cannot carry a little handbag or an envelope bag. It all depends on the type of bag.

Stephanie’s hairstyle and earrings are youthful and flattering here. The belt on the outfit is not flattering, however. The shoulder straps under the outfit look cluttered with the purse strap - no shoulder straps and a purse with a short handle would look much better I think.

What illness???? I have never heard anything like that. Many women I know do not regain their old figure after giving birth, this is probably the case with Stephanie, plus other natural issues.

I’m sorry , maybe I’m to blunt , but she need an adviser regarding clothes. She need to find clothes she feel comfortable in and this is not one of those , her body language speaks for herself.

  14. Positives -- Her hair looks well styled, natural and flowing. The royal couple, appear so sincere, just going by their body language the Grand Duke has a real softness within his demeanor, I have noticed this since we have seen more of him, its very appealing. I can only imagine a lovely husband and father!

You know hat - there is no way and no principles to follow that can hide what some of you think can be "optimized" away by means of clothing, the overweight. It is visible with and also without a belt "cutting through". She is well rounded, if you will: somewhat overweight, as is her husband. But she is not devoid of pleasing forms, only a bit too much of everything - so what? I remember some weeks ago she wore a tent-like gown with a cape - oh yes, that put away with everything, no curves, no nothing, everything optimized by coverings. Is that better? I definitely think: no. I like this outfit, also beautiful colour for her as almost every shade of pastel yellow, the only thing I don't like is that she ruins the beautiful folded shoulder by placing the chain of her bag across it. Why not another bag or no bag for this beautiful top, I don't get it. - You cannot really make a big woman appear small and her dimensions are not so that she should hide herself.

Sorry but you cannot compare GD Stéphanie with Queen Mathilde and Queen Maxima. Both Queens Maxima and Mathilde have good and less good outfits by Natan, but that happens also when they wear other designers.
The problem with GD Stéphanie is her overweight. After the birth of her son Prince François she had a short period that she looked thinner . A pity it didn't took long before she was gaining weight again, slowely but surely. Also her husband has overweight. They should do both an effort and support each other to loose a bit of that overweight.
The jumpsuit I see here is made in a fabric which is too light and does not fall good. The legs are also too wide for a woman who is not very tall. She is not wearing good underwear either. If the underwear does not fit the most beautiful dress will not look good. The belt should be replaced by a leather belt in the same color as the jumpsuit. And then we have the problem of the bag. It has been explained already so I am not going to repeat the same. What I had chosen if I were in her place are pants and a separate top in the same color and (better) quality. I would have worn the top like it is but not tucked in and a bit wider (A-line) and not too short. She would not feel the need to cover her tummy with her hands. Now we see it all the time when she is at an event, the first thing she is doing is keeping her hands on her tummy, because she feels not sure.

    2. @ 17:54. I widely agree that cloth design cannot solve the issues we are discussing here. If she accepts some overweight, we have to accept it for her as well. The couple is facing the reality with dignity, let's concentrate on other aspects of this super friendly couple.
If she likes the wide-legged trousers, that is ok. : they make her look modern, which traditional straight ones wouldn't do. She can can go ahead as she is doing. However one suggestion : to get some more modern hand bags.

Dear 17:54, it’s a harsh judgement you make on other people’s weight. For them, this weight may be how they will always be. Maybe they’ve wanted to lose weight and couldn’t, or haven’t wanted to. There are all different body types. We must let people - especially those we don’t know - manage their lives and their personal choices themselves.

Maybe for the first time, I feel like a sort of uneasiness myself looking at GD Stephanie in these pics.
I don't even know where to start to make a comment whatsoever ...
Just a consideration: why this lovely lady keeps on making wrong fashion choices?

    1. I am in agreement with you, P. the original. It seems she just has not much of a fashion sense at all. Maybe it is something that is of little importance to her, as she likes to focus on other things. Fair enough. It's primarily her choice, and she is the one wearing the clothes, and she needs to feel comfy in them. We simply cannot look into that pretty head of hers. On a side note: Whoever deems it necessary to comment on her weight, is sadly off the mark. Sorry. Yes, it is rather obvious that she has not the figure of a Catherine, Princess of Wales, or a Queen Letizia. But I would rather not shame her on that issue. People are different. Women are different. Some are slim and trim, some appear a bit more square, some carry a little excess weight. We are diverse. All of us. I am sure she could look fabulous with the figure she has when putting a little more thought and effort into her wardrobe. There is so much good clothing, also high-end, known designers, out there for her. She simply needs to find them. She'll get the hang of it - I hope.

I dislike jumpsuits generally, but the top part of this one is very flattering to Stephanie, and imo would look spectacular on her as a sweater or blouse paired with a well-tailored pencil skirt. — Jane

Woman with a normal body wears a nice jumpsuit and looks lovely. This is a rare outfit on this site that I would wear. The last few no more than a few years have been mostly bland. People aren't used to seeing normal faces anymore or normal bodies without being critical and she's probably smaller than the average American and Brit. Sorry rant over.
