King Frederik and Queen Mary are undertaking a state visit to Australia at the invitation of the Governor-General of Australia, Sam Mostyn. On the third day of their visit to Australia, King Frederik and Queen Mary, accompanied by the Governor-General, Sam Mostyn, visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. For the occasion, the Queen wore a new navy midi dress by Carolina Herrera.
Afterwards, King Frederik and Queen Mary met with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. At Parliament House, the King and Queen were also introduced to selected Indigenous artworks from the Australian Parliament House art collection. The King and Queen then met with members of this parliamentary group, representing all Australian states and territories.

J’aime beaucoup le blazer rose en lin, très rafraîchissant !
ReplyDeleteBeautifull blue dress!
ReplyDeleteA very small detail, but characteristic for Mary's "individualisation" of outfits. The model wears the lapel of the vest over the lapel of the jacket. Mary wears the lapel of the vest inside. Small change, but a fabulous effect, because now the vest really looks like a vest, not like a second jacket underneath the other one. I like it very much, like all vest-under-jacket-instead -of-blouse solutions (also seen on Letizia and Máxima).
ReplyDeleteYou are very observant. Yes, I agree Mary brings her own individual style to the blazer and vest and it looks great. The lapel inside looks cleaner and neater while still creating an interesting look.
DeleteI was a bit surprised at Mary' s choice of dress today because the forecast
ReplyDeletefor Canberra was quite warm.
Having said that her dress looked very stylish and regal.
On our evening news I saw two Danish backpackers interviewd.at the meet
and greet in Canberra.
They explained that they had never seen the royal couple back in Denmark so sremed very excited to have seen them in Canberra.
I wondered if this interview made the news back in Denmark.
Next stop Melbourne.
Cate.
The headband would look better without the little veil. The navy dress must be one of her favourites since she wore it on different occasions in the past. I like her shoes in (faux ?)snake leather. The linen Max Mara outfit looks excellent to achieve these visits, better than a dress in fact. I like the color of her pink handbag which matches the blazer. @ Anon. 11:16 If we ware a blouse or a jacket with lapels under another jacket we always wear it like Mary does because often the blouse or the jacket we wear first is a bit smaller and so are the lapels. The result is that we cannot fold the lapels of the blouse or the jacket underneath beautifully over the jacket we wear on top.
ReplyDelete.... if we wear (not ware) a blouse....
DeleteI really like the shoes Mary is wearing with the navy outfit. Lovely tie detail on the navy dress, and exquisite earrings and brooch. I like the soft pink and cream color combo of the second outfit and also the belt on the top under the jacket.

D’accorco, Rosella. Lei e la mia regina favorita.

Can’t go wrong with a CH dress. So classy and feminine without being frilly.
ReplyDeleteHvor ser de ægte glade ud begge to❤️.
ReplyDeleteVores fantastiske skønne dygtige smukke Kongepar hjemme i H.M.Dronning Mary’s hjemland Down Under 👑🇩🇰🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🐨❤️
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary looking stunning in all her beautiful outfits. Enjoy your visit to Australia King & Queen.
ReplyDeleteVery welcome to and back to Australia.
ReplyDeletet feels like we have a second monarchy that cares about Australia. Queen Mary has Australia heritage. ❤️
ReplyDeleteMary is excellent with shoe choices (too). A little snake skin spot and suddenly it is more than a blue midi dress. Blue heels would have been correct, these are an upgrade.
ReplyDeleteJ adorerais avoir sa robe dans mon dressing, sobre mais quelle élégance
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
She looks a little tired in the last photo. She has been very busy.
ReplyDeleteA somber navy was a good choice for the occasion. The Connaught Sapphire brooch sits beautifully on her dress, with what might be new sapphire and diamond earrings to match the brooch.
ReplyDeleteI do like the cream Max Mara suit, but prefer the look with the cream jacket rather than the pink/coral/blush jacket.
Lowri.
Love the royal blue outfit; it’s a beautifully put-together look, and the way that little jewel of a hat frames Mary’s face is just exquisite.
ReplyDeleteGreat that Mary and Frederick are in Australia at this time.Mary is very stylish, and Frederick looks good.(Tara)♥️
ReplyDeleteWow how exviting is it yo have Mary back home. She looks lovely & regal. Mary
ReplyDeleteLove the classic simplicity of the blue dress with the neat hat and fab shoes. The cream and pink outfit is also a winner. The pink jacket is so much nicer than the bland effect when she wore it before with a white jacket. Queen Mary’s hair is now a great length (P of W take note!) and she looks stunning
ReplyDeleteThe CH blue dress is gorgeous, love the color, style and length of this beautiful dress. She looks very elegant. The skirt of the dress has nice swish and movement. The splash of color with her shoes, looks so good. the Connaught Sapphire and diamond brooch is one of the most beautiful jewel pieces in the royal vault. The style has never dated, the color of the Sapphire is glorious.
ReplyDeleteThe earrings are divine!
Love the cream MM pantsuit, fits well. The pink jacket lovely addition.
It’s a stunning outfit and she looks beautiful … but to know the War Memorial, which is vast concrete and huge halls of very moving displays, surrounded by grass so dry it’s white, big gum trees, many birds, a generally hot sun still this month, and a huge double laned avenue leading down to the bushy lake, currently so busy due to a traffic diversion … in such a bushy place, the outfit is out of place. It’s such a humble casual capital, our Canberra, where Birkenstocks and sports clothes are more commonly seen than high heels, it look such a juxtaposition to me.
