I always look forward to her fashion choices and this one is worth the wait! I love the fabric that looks like liquid gold. A few small nits…I would ditch the jacket and swap out the shoes for open toed sandals, but maybe that’s more fitting for summer.

its drooping on her, the trousers give a pyjama effect

With her hair and make up like this she resembles Twiggy

Yes, we are a bit spoiled by her almost always excellent choices. But this one is, for me, a fail. Maybe better with another top. And maybe much better with a bit more fitting. I get that it is fashionably légère and oversized, but Charlene is at her best, when her beautiful stature is on display. It might be liquid gold, but she is hidden in it, loosely wrapped up.

It’s not very often I dislike an outfit worn by PC, but this is a no! She looks swamped in it. The trouser has an unusual shape. The jacket sits shapeless on her frame.Maybe if she’d have worn the top with cream wide legged trouser and a nude sandal might have been a better option.
    Lowri.

    1. I agree with you. ‘Swamped’ was the word that came to my mind too. Princess Charlene usually looks so elegant but this outfit does her no favours. I wonder if a different top might have improved it. I also think this hairstyle is not at all flattering

  5. I admire that she tries new styles. She is never boring, and some of her more daring choices (that I would never have considered) turn out fantastic .
This time though, it´s resounding no from me. The jacket comprises all things from the 80s that I disliked: oversized shoulders, cropped (or pushed-up) sleeves, double-breasted blazers worn open and long slim lapels. The trousers seem to have big folds at the waist to produce that bulky width in the legs - another 80s feature that was never attractive. Given the flimsy material, the whole thing ends up looking like a pyjama. I don´t care one bit for the golden colour, and I don´t think it suits Charlene either. The top is the best part of the outfit but the uses for an animal-patterned semi see-through top are rather limited. I must say that it looks kind of good against the dark skin on the model. On Charlene though, it ends up looking nude in colour, and that´s never good (other than for pumps and tights).

I was a young woman in the 80s and I loved the fashion. I wouldn't blame the 80s for this Armani piece, there is so much more wrong here than (maybe) 80s. The 80s loved oversizing, but not necessarily devoid of any style or form, just hanging down from the person like the trousers do here. Silk is probably not the best choice for this style. The jacket would be better buttoned up, and with some added contrast worn under it. Diana wore 80s' fashion and looked good in it because she wore oversized but structured outfits.

  6. Je ne sais pas quoi dire...joli oui et non, particulier, original certainement. J'aime bien le top, pas facile à porter avec sa transparence

La couleur est magnifique, heureusement que Charlène est très grande pour porter ce genre de tailleur pantalon.
    Froufrou

I for one like this outfit and how it fits. A nice change from skin tight. The fabric is very fluid, the shoes a nice contrast. The sleeves of the jacket could be a tad longer, or dare I say pilled up. I wish her hair wasn’t pulled back and flat, she suits this but I find it a bit harsh. She sure can wear a nice variety of styles.

The whole outfit is a fail. Princess Charlene has already natural broad shoulders. No need to wear a jacket which is broader than her own shoulders. A double breasted jacket which is not worn buttonned up doesn't fit. The pants are wide around the waist and the hips but skinny around the ankles, the worst fit you can have for pants in a fabric and color which give the impression that they are not ironed and in a fabric of bad quality, which is not the case. The black shoes don't match the outfit. If she didn't has golden shoes a neutral light beige pair would have been better. Her hair and make-up are so different and not for the better. At first I didn't recognize her. She has tons of beautiful clothes and in the end she doesn't know anymore what to wear. Instead of never wearing a dress or a suit twice, she'd better worn a beautiful suit she already has instead of buying this new horrible thing.

Interesting, the jacket is oversized, note the shoulders. I was inclined to make some of the comments already here, but decided to comment that it's double breasted, it would be good to see it buttoned before critiquing. Chris

  13. The outfit is okay, but I personally am not a fan. The jacket seems limp/hanging on her frame. The pants, appear shapeless. The clutch I like, color and size, not so sure of her choice of shoes.

I worry when someone has lost a great deal of weight and then wears very baggy clothes to ( possibly) disguise it. People will say it’s not my business to comment, but I think it’s human nature to worry about such things. Funny really how we don’t know these women personally but definitely care about their well-being and happiness.
