Mary’s jewelry coordinates wonderfully with the design on her gown.

Yes, it does. Very fine, subtle jewelry - perfect match with the fluid gown.

Helen, you are fabulous, to give us this first-class example not only for multiple rewear, but also for Mary's genuinity in changing her gowns for rewears. She does it all the time, so the person complaining in a pre-post about Mary never rewearing should make her homework first. She looks majesti, elegant, beautiful in this gown, and the Ole Lynggaard hair bling is extraordinary (like most of her jewels from this brand).

@17:39 that person was not complaining but stating their opinion. That’s ok. If you take a look at the annual clothes budget chart created each year by “ufo no more” you’ll see that while Mary isn’t spending the most (the honours go to Charlene and Meghan who spend incredible amounts), she’s in the top half of the Royal ladies which indicates a lot of new wears hence a lower rewear rate than many. This is not a complaint, but data, which you might like to include in your “homework” too.

You cannot compare Meghan's clothes budget with the rest of the royal ladies because she is not a working royal any more. Lately she is rarely dressed in gala dresses. She does not wear a lot of jewelry either. Maybe "Ufo no more" compaired her clothing budget at the time they lived still in London.

  7. Magnifique robe avec la dentelle dont les couleurs se combinent à ravir ; je remarque que le bijou pour cheveux ainsi que les boucles d’oreilles sont de Ole Lynggaard, également du goût de la reine Maxima !

Gorgeous!!! Queen Mary looks amazing in yet another version of this Jesper Hovring gown, The lace over-lay is so beautiful and the Lynggaard pieces look like perfect matches for the design of the lace. The King looks dashing in his naval uniform.

Nice gown. Im appalled (as an Australian) that the table is mostly full of men and not a balance of women in roles considered worthy of inviting to the table. Frederik looks absolutely fantastic in his kingly uniform and steals the show.

      Hi Anon 18:27
I too noticed the lack of women to the right of King Fred.
However in other photos and on the news I saw plenty of women
to the left of Mary and across the other side of the table.
I assume that Albo and Jodie were there but I didn't see them
anywhere near the royal couple. Albo is of course a republican.
Finally, I thought the GG ' s dress was a bit odd looking.
Sam is normally such a sharp dresser.
      Cheers Cate.

I admire how QM can re-design outfits from her closet, but for me this version is not a favourite. She wore it at the wedding reception of the CP Jordan.I was put off by the draping. The gold overlay is pretty, if it had been limited to the waist and arm.
    I love the hair accessory.

  16. Helen, thank you for the rewear photos.
The King gave a excellent speech at this event, I was lucky enough to read it. He looks handsome and well groomed in uniform.
Love the rewear of this pale blue gorgeous gown. I love the changes made, the lace overlay in this instance I love. The embellished effect works in well, especially with the brooch she has utilized as a hair accessory, which I absolutely love. One of the things I really love, how the Queen utilizes these gorgeous pieces of jewellery. I would so love other royal ladies to try this, obviously the ones that don't or haven't tried this. The earrings are pretty. The small gold evening clutch, works well, blending with the embellished gold and beautiful hair accessory, all aligned well. Her hair looks stunning, not overdone, but natural and flowing. Makeup is on point. Beautiful presentation by the Queen.

It's very hard to say with a photo, because an image can be edited afterwards to improve the lighting/brightness, so that the people stand out more. Some cameras improve the brightness automatically to compensate for low lighting - I know mine does this. Lyra

I prefer the remake of the dress like it is shown in the middle of the last photo. Today there is too much lace which has been added. I wonder if it is cheaper to add a lot of lace to an old gala dress (unless Queen Margrethe gave her some lace she still had in her closet) than buying a new dress now and then. I don't like that greyish blue/green color for Mary. She looks better in brighter colors. I like the beautiful jewelry she is wearing today.

One cannot compare the dresses worn at the Oscar awards with dresses worn by a Queen or a Princess during a state or official visit.
