On February 25, 2026, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the QuestScope Youth Center at the Za'atari Refugee Camp, near Mafraq in northern Jordan. The camp is the world's largest camp for Syrian refugees. As a host country, Jordan is estimated to spend $870 million a year supporting Syrian refugees. Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess visited children evacuated from Gaza who are receiving treatment at the The Specialty Hospital in Amman.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s non-profit organization, Archewell Philanthropies, helped fund medical evacuations for children affected by the conflict in Gaza. They also supported relief efforts for children and families impacted by the October 7 attacks in Israel.
On the morning of February 25, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a roundtable discussion hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), with representatives from the United Nations and its agencies, diplomatic representatives, and donors, at the WHO’s country office in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Fashionwise: nothing to write home about. Except two side notes: (1) for public appearances it is advisable to choose fabrics that crinkle less. It just does not look good. (2) Petite women and big wide, too long trousers is not a match made in heaven.
ReplyDeleteYour comments can be said from all the other royal women who are wearing pure linen and who are not taller than Meghan.
DeleteIl faudra alors le dire a Letizia et Kate qui sont encore plus minces
DeleteQuel couple élégant ; j'adore voir Meghan quand elle porte du kaki combiné aussi bien avec du blanc, du noir que du blanc cassé !
ReplyDeleteMeghan’s khaki-colored trousers look like linen, which is cool and comfortable but wrinkles. The wide legged look is still “in”. Love her white jacket—a softer version of a suit jacket.
ReplyDeleteAnd linen remains popular because it is cool and comfortable in a hot climate. LRB
DeleteI have an aunt who is, without question, a snob.
DeleteShe loves linen and is not worried about the wrinkles.
She always points out that they are “class” wrinkles and totally acceptable.
The khaki trousers look appalling. They did badly on her waist, the belt worsens the look, and the width and length is ludicrously wrong for her petite frame. Check out the photos of her kicking a ball to see that she has surely forgotten her trousers and borrowed a pair of Harry’s.
Delete@deadeggs
DeleteWe have a similar saying in our country. Linen has wrinkles but they are luxuary wrinkles.
This feels very wrong. Many MANY organisations provide funding at far higher amounts and do not show up at refugee camps to be photographed. Why these two?
ReplyDeleteI believe they were invited, not just showed up.
Deleteyet they were invited, and there are photos which are probably good for fundraising, no?
DeleteBecause they were invited by the head of the WHO who clearly does not agree with your assessment. What are they getting from this if not actual cash? Very significant worldwide coverage for their cause. LRB
DeleteI agree with 18:05. I have read the financial statements on the last two years of Archewell and they have donated very little compared to what the foundation has brought in, and given that they have donated little in total, they will be amongst the very smallest donors to these organisations. Having worked in a partner organisation to WHO I know some strange decisions go on, but this is truly maladvised.
DeleteAgree that this so wrong on so many levels.
DeleteGreat mission supporting refugees and a children’s hospital. Not about the clothes, but I really like the white jacket. Everything else is fine for the mission. Looking again. I really like those green shoes and I need a new white shirt.
ReplyDelete@Anon18:24: "not about the clothes": we *are* here for the clothes. EFor nothing else. But now you mention "supporting": they support themselves. For any other kind of meaningful support they are not relevant enough. So let's talk fashion.
DeleteContente de revoir l élégante Meghan
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
On the topic of fashion: as others have written I agree that the shape of the trousers is off for her. High-waisted and bulky around the stomach, wrinkly, wide-legged... it just doesn't flatter her figure imo.
ReplyDeleteThe white shirt on top made me think she was wearing a hospital/doctor's jacket of some kind. An off-white colour would have worked better.
Did I understand it well that their foundation supported both Palestinians and Israelis? That's interesting, don't think I've heard that before.
I always find myself torn when H&M show up in connection with philantropy. Even though I hope they only mean well, I do have a hard time finding it genuine.
Agree with all your comments on clothes and on the visit. I can’t fault the cause but their actions to date make me feel that there must be something in it for them
Delete1:52. Self promotion.
DeleteNot a wow fashion factor. Why again are they in Jordon? This isn't a state visit or did their Charity give a couple of Dollars, this must be it. I hope the children are well taken care of.
ReplyDeletecss
Simple answer is they were invited by WHO - so WHO clearly believe their visit will be impactful. Who are we to judge their decision? LRB
DeleteCasual khaki-white combinations can be excellently done. Like here, on the left: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HCBQe7RaMAMFcXc?format=jpg&name=large
ReplyDeleteAnon 22.04 Thank you for the link. This is a fabulous example. The pants are perfectly tailored, and fit. The length 100% right. Love the color of these pants. The top looked great. The shoes excellent choice. This is how you do sporty and casual, well fitted outfit successfully, still managing to look stylish and smart.
DeleteThe white ensemble I want to like, but a disconnect with the fabric. Tweed jacket and stretch fabric pants, with white coloring fabric it is still noticeable, it is something I have never liked, personal taste only. The jacket is fitted; the pants are baggy. The white jacket itself I like.
ReplyDeleteThe Khaki colored pants, too long, too baggy and wrinkled, creased badly. In some photos the crotch of these pants is quite low, imo ill fitting pants.
Special mention of the young girls playing the violins, beautiful! I can only imagine the beautiful music that was played, one of my favorite instruments!.
I am not a fan of the khaki pants, as many have pointed out they do not seem to fit, it looks like she borrowed them from someone. The white ensemble looks much nicer, even if I am not a big fan of the trousers here either. The real winner outfit is Harry stepping out of the car, very nicely put together.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't walk with her hands in her pockets like you describe and linen wrinkles on everyone queen or no queen, princess or no princess, duchess or no duchess. If you continue to tell lies about everyone in your comments you are not on the right spot here.
Delete11:18 Dorothe has given an opinion. It is unfair and weird to accuse her of lying because you don’t like her opinion. Furthermore her opinion is about the photos not about you, so please don’t attack her in return. You may also give your opinion on the photos but not attack other commenters personally.
DeleteAnon 09:43 Dorothe.
DeleteIf Harry were still with the royal family, I would take an interest in this visit.
ReplyDeleteWhy? Are you not interested in the plight of the refugees? Why does Harry have to be with the RF to be of interest? LRB
DeleteWhat stands out is their continued commitment to service. By visiting Jordan, they help bring attention to humanitarian efforts supporting refugees and local communities. They use their platform to spotlight this work, amplify the organizations on the ground, and encourage public awareness. Showing up, listening, and engaging directly still matters.
ReplyDeleteI wish this beautiful version were reality, 11:40. Alas.
DeleteHere is Diana's son! No other Royal will ever match her causes but truth be told the son is trying to match that.
ReplyDeleteOh my I don’t think so, he is a wealth man that wants a purpose and this is a good cause to promote. At least it is not support of the sport of kings.
DeleteIt’s easy to tear people down from behind a screen, but the reality is that both Meghan and Harry have spent years doing meaningful humanitarian work — long before the noise, the headlines, or the negativity. Meghan has consistently shown grace in the face of hostility, and Harry has dedicated his life to service. The problem isn’t their character; it’s how quick some people are to spread hate instead of acknowledging compassion, charity, and actual impact. We need more love and less bitterness in this country, not more people attacking others for doing good.”
ReplyDeleteThank you Anon 11:41
DeleteI agree with you Anon. 11:41. It is so true everything you said.
DeleteWell stated, totally agree, thank you for so eloquently defending what should be appreciated, Rem
Delete100 % correct.
DeleteUnfortunately @11:41 this is not borne out by truth. Showing up for a few days of media shots is not the same as hard work over a sustained time period.
DeleteI totally agree with Ava Pittman`s fashion comment - good observation.
ReplyDelete@11.40 - really! Please elaborate. The Princess Royal surpasses Diana`s record on all levels, without the drama.
@11.40 - `continued commitment to service` - whose service? Not the BRF which they decided to leave. But of course travelling to a refugee camp using a private jet does show compassion and humility!!
Spot on!
DeleteAnon 12.39 You are right about The Princess Royal. Agree with you, and she is an incredible support, to the Monarchy, thank you for mentioning her, quietly in the background, her achievements are top of the line.
Delete@ 12:39
DeleteIf Princess Diana would have lived longer, she also would have the opportunity to continue her humanitarian work....... Think about that.
@ Anonym26/2/26 11:18
"What's in a name" Shakespeare said. You can call yourself what you want. Nobody knows who you really are. So you are also a number a time and a person whose nickname is Dorothe.
DeleteAnon 15:28. Totally agree with you. Sounds like somebody's got delusions of grandeur.
DeleteAbdallah II and Rania of Jordan are good friends of Prince William and Princess Catherine, she lived in Jordan while very young. They totally ignored Harry and Meghan. Fashion wise, no matter what Meghan wears, it always looks wrinkled (linen or not) and doesn't fit well. She has 0 elegance.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know the King and Queen ignored them? Just because they didn’t meet does not mean they didn’t have a conversation by phone - royal princesses were present with H&M, so I am sure the King and Queen support the work . Kate hardly met the King when she was young - not sure how your comment on that has any relevance. LRB
Delete@23.34 - absolutely agree.
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that people when it concerns Harry and Meghan cannot show a little respect when talking about them. They are two human beings whose actions and the way they live do not harm you. Every little picture or small text in a news paper and there we go again. Outside the U.K. people do not understand the hate which is demonstrated each time Harry and Meghan are photographed, be it in the States when they assist at a basket ball match or in another country where they are present to support humanitarian work. Do you as a hater, realize this is the best publicity you can give them ? Good people who can appreciate what H. and M. are trying to achieve because they care for the habitants of regions in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, .... who suffer because their children are hungry and thirsty or worse, because their children are killed by war caused by bad people of which there seems to be more and more in this world lately.
