On February 17, 2026, Queen Máxima visited a shelter for homeless people located on Transformatorweg in Amsterdam. The visit focused on support for homeless EU citizens and cooperation between care providers and partner organizations. The facility offers various services, including daytime shelter, social support and guidance, 24-hour transitional accommodation, and night shelter.

Queen Máxima’s visit began with a tour of the building’s facilities. She was welcomed by Mr. Rutger Groot Wassink, Alderman for Shelter and Social Affairs of the Municipality of Amsterdam. Following the tour, the Queen took part in a roundtable discussion with representatives of the municipality and care and shelter organizations.
