On January 20, 2026, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the National Curling Academy in Stirling, Scotland, ahead of the Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games in Milano-Cortina, scheduled for February and March. The Prince and Princess also stopped by the Kelpies on their way to Stirling. In addition, they visited Radical Weavers, a tartan-weaving studio and independent charity based in Stirling.

حذفI do not like it either. Dull when there are so many nicer tartan patterns out there. Also the elasticated back makes it look cheap in my opinion. On the plus side, always good to see her smiling and and spreading joy.

حذفI like the coat. Pr. Catherine should avoid to come so close to other people now that the flue season started again. Where I live people have receive a warning what to do to avoid catching influenza or even covid again. People whose immunity is not 100 % best avoid places where many people come together like theatres, sport stadions, cinema's, etc... Even when we have been vaccinated we can still catch it or we can wear a mask again. I know I don't like to wear that again either especially with my glasses, but if I have to stay in a supermarket waiting to pay for my goods with people before and after me, I do wear a mask again and desinfect my hands once I am outside the store. (I have always a bottle in my handbag to desinfect my hands).
ردحذفAll winter long, often in autumn and spring too, there are upper respiratory viruses circulating. Being outside with others in the fresh air or in large airy buildings is not a very high risk. I’m sure she is well advised!

حذفI am not talking about simple respiratory viruses but about the influenza virus and covid. I am not talking about young and strong people but people whose immunity is (has been) lower than normal. I only said what the doctors and health care services advice. But there are of course people who don't want to listen to good advice, they are not vaccinated and they do the opposite of what is already an habit as washing your hands regularly (if that is not always possible desinfect your hands with a special gel you can keep in your pocket), avoid contact with large groups of people, etc...

@8:28 as a doctor, I do listen to good advice - and give it. Washing your hands is always a good idea, all year; and meeting people outside in plenty of fresh air is also a good idea and the risk of transmission of upper respiratory diseases is low, including for flu and COVID. I love her coat here, love seeing her interacting with William, and am happy to see her out and amongst happy people.

حذفIn most European cities people who are going to work in the morning by train or bus are wearing puffed coats in all kind of colors. Puffed coats are good against the cold and humidity as snow and rain. That is why people (men, women and children) like to wear them during winter. It is true that this winter the colors of all kind of clothes were often dark and very dark. Young people are wearing often black, grey, white and navy. Older people especially women will wear their older puffed coats (in all kind of colors) if they are still looking good. If you must wait for a bus or a train in the morning a woolen coat is not practical and even the best woolen coat feels less warm than a puffed one. Woolen coats are OK for people who are driving to work in their own car and can leave it locked up in an underground garage belonging to and near the company where they work.

حذفI only say what I see on buses and trains in the morning. And I know that before I wore puffed coats myself the woolen ones were less warm. I also look at what is exposed in boutiques, clothes stores and what colors younger people than me are wearing. I suppose they like the colors I talked about, otherwise they wouldn't wear them.

Catherine, The Princess of Wales, is considered to do re-wears quite often, and using her existing wardrobe to a large extent over and over again. Buying something new from time to time would hardly count as "mindless consumerism". It is also expected to see the BRF in some new items occasionally, in particular for high profile events (like state visits, Royal Ascot, Trooping the Colour, etc.), or sometimes for visiting a certain part of the UK, like here Scotland. That is what the so called "clothing allowance" is for, after all. But then, it could easily be that you are not familiar with the term and what exactly it entails.

Her coat is fine, kind of dull to me but it’s bespoke from a Saville Row tailor so supporting British tailors. He does pull out that blue and brown sometimes. I don’t think this works.
ردحذفI love this coat, it looks beautiful on the Princess. It has a small gather at the back, saw elsewhere, giving the coat a nice shape overall. The tartan pattern and color scheme is wonderful. The fit and design looks great. Love the black suede boots. Her diamond and sapphire earrings were a good choice. Lovely to see her so engaging and looking well and healthy.

The coat is lovely, but the outfit underneath is not great. Covered from head to toe and then a crocheted vest on top and boots doesn’t do the outfit any favors. It’s a combo of hippy and grandma.

ردحذفI love Catherine's coat! It's a beautiful take on tartan-style fabrics. I also love her outfit--I read on another site that her skirt is modernized kilt. Its beautiful. What I would love to know more about is the vest she is wearing--its adds a real kick to her black top and skirt. It looks like William and Catherine had wonderful time too.

I agree with you Janet, I love the vest. Its apparently pure wool, so very warm. I like the pattern and style. The Navy kilt is brilliant!
