The 40th edition of ESNS has the overarching theme Europe Calling: an urgent call for unity within Europe. With this manifesto, ESNS aims to spark a movement that goes beyond national borders and individual success. At the end of her visit, Queen Máxima engaged in conversations with artists who performed on the first day of Eurosonic 2026.

No to this top - I like the colour but not the style - it's overdone, this strange "decoration" at her shoulder.

Had to laugh at the comment, so true. On the plus side, she did have her hair dresser take care of her hair.

Wow she sure can pull off these styles. Great colour, and it fits well, perhaps a tad longer , but otherwise very nice

I really wish she would hire a stylist.
She's so pretty but hasn't got the best taste in clothing.

Of course the queen has a stylist, clothes are brought to her or are made for her, but she chooses. I remember that the former chancellor of Germany, Mrs. Merkel, was extremely stubborn and would not listen to sartorial advice. She was always impeccable, but often marched around
like a male politician, in unflattering outfits.

Ahhh … Maxima is incredibly stylish and also seems to really enjoy and dare to wear slightly edgy clothes. Fabulous taste in clothes - although perhaps different from your own.

  6. She looks literally sensational! This ensemble is not something that appeals to me personally, but the Queen wears this wonderfully. She has the flamboyance, flair and confidence to wear this successfully. Her gold shoes, good choice. Love the earrings, and lovely addition her diamond bracelet. Her hair looks well groomed and styled.

Maxima can pull off the designs few of the rest of us would even try on. She’s fabulous and must be one of the very best living “clothes horses” for designers such as Natan and Claes Iversen who somehow succeed in selling such unusual shapes and frequently outrageous designs.

Right you are. Most of the royals are dressed quite conservatively but she dares to wear extraordinary clothes

    3. @ 09:39 - Yes but, what is the most important for a queen ? Be dressed according to the population wishes/expectations OR to please the world of fashion and design ?

MaryT, neither! The queen is a human with her own tastes and personality who brings this to her role. Love her!

This top is a re-wear I believe, and for that reason, kudos to Maxima for re-wearing it. I think it looks better the way the model is wearing it as it makes no doubt in that image that this is an avante garde outfit and looks exactly like that. Maxima has tried to make that look less AG and more fashion accessible, and it isn't the best look, hovering between normal and extreme. It looks better tucked-in as well, as on the model. However it is the right style to wear for the music arts event, and I'm glad that she wore it there.

The set was new in 2019. She is wearing the trousers which are made to be worn with the top. She did wear this set before, more than once. When I read the comments here I have the impression that many of you are seeing this outfit for the first time.

I prefer Maxima’s version and shape to the exceedingly slim model who won’t represent most of us.

      I agree with Anon. 10:09
Today people cannot accept anymore women who are not extremely thin. They should all have bodies with no breasts no hips just flat.
I do not know anything about B-road or other expressions. It is true that Maxima has hips and strong legs. It is true that Mathilde has a high waist and she has breasts too. It is true that other Queens and Princesses are looking thin, so what. Today our "perfect society" does not accept older women with wrinkles, who are not using botox or fillers, who do not have thick lips (which I find awful for white women who are not born like this and whose parents are not born like this either). And then they are surprised that nothing works anymore in this world. Learn to accept people like nature created them. There are no real super women. Every man and woman has one or more beautiful characteristics and they also have one or more less beautiful characteristics.
What is more important is what kind of people they are : friendly, honest, helpful, not jealous, not selfish, not thinking they are better or smarter than other people, etc...

I was thinking if I was a Queen and invited to a music show/competition, what would I wear? Then looking at her choices, I really like this outfit. The top is a rewear, and when the gold shoes are added, the pants make sense to balance out the whole look.

The queen’s hair looks beautiful with the waves in it. Why does she not wear it styled this way more often, it gives a more youthful look to her and softer around the face. I dare say a lot healthier looking hair.
