King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands hosted the traditional New Year’s Reception

On January 13, 2026, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands hosted the traditional New Year’s Reception for foreign diplomats and representatives of international organisations based in the Netherlands. The reception took place at the Royal Palace Amsterdam. Princess Beatrix and Princess Margriet were present at the reception. For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore an outfit by the Belgian fashion house Natan.

    I do like the coat very much, roomy, beautiful colour. Just getting a peek of her green dress, great colour and love the shoe tone of green, she looks splendid. Love the jewel tones. The king looks very tired but very dapper in his formal wear.

    Love a green and blue combo, so thumbs up on the Queen’s whole outfit for me. Interesting to see that this diplomatic event seems more formal….dress instead of pants for her, morning coat instead of suit and tie for him.

      Also a fan of blue and green. The coat is a gorgeous colour and shape. As usual it would, imo, look better with her arms in the sleeves but it looks good even worn cape like

    The green and blue combination, works beautifully, two colors I have never put together, but that will change! I love this. Her coat is gorgeous. Love her hair pulled back and up style.

    This dress has been worn before to the same reception—so many clothes, phew. It's also been lengthened a few centimeters, but it's still too short and too tight.
    The hairstyle makes her old, sorry….
