Ok 16:28, you can save your space next time by not making one. I’ll make one while I’m here: Maxima looking fresh and lovely in the new year. I think her silver skirt is the same as Mathilde’s apricot skirt the other day? Works a little better on Maxima who looks beautiful.

Beautiful coat. On these photos she looks like a young woman, not like s.o. at 52.

      I thought so too!
Without her usual heavy make-up she looks more like her younger self: so much better!!

    2. I also thought she looked great. Lovely colour of coat. Why is the King carrying her bag?

      @ AnnieM
That is what gentlemen do. Besides we don't know what is in the bag. Maybe it contains his (their) personal toilet articles. They change clothes before starting the reception.

For AnnieM: it appears to be his briefcase

Very nice fitting coat, wonderful colour red for her complexion. Her shoes must be made of very soft leather as you can see her toes on the side. Lovely couple

This is obviously a photo taken as they were entering the palace and before they got all dressed up and made up to receive their guests. I must say that I very much like this natural and casual look on Maxima. She looks younger and very relaxed. I like the colour of her clothing too.
The Dutch royal family have been missing from these pages for a couple of weeks so it's nice to see them again.

I like the Max Mara coat, but the Natan skirt is a ‘no’. I can’t think of any royal lady who could make that skirt look good. Similarly to Mathilde in the pink version, this looks as stiff as a board. The hemline looks like it was cut during a blackout. Natan teeters between hits and misses, this is definitely a miss.
Lovely to see Princess Beatrix. She still radiates warmth in her smile.

  12. I don't think I have ever seen Maxima without makeup, she looks fabulous. Love the color of the coat, beautiful rich color, suits her beautifully. I don't like the hemline of the skirt, the color is pretty.

Love the blue outfit, cut is beautiful however the skirt must crease when sitting down for long periods. The red coat is good too. I do like when the King wears a tie to match his wife’s outfit changes! Maxima looks well rested after the holidays but the king not so much... Lovely to see the older generation out too. JJ

Does the skirt look better because of the uneven hem? Absolutely not! The tissue and colour are good, so why oh why the hem?
    To make it “ design”?

Just like the shirt dresses of the 50s with the wide skirts (Dior) there were also this kind of skirts which were longer in the back. Normally this type of skirt (and also dresses) were worn for receptions and cocktails. There were also brides who had this type of skirt on their white wedding dress made of silk.
