Queen Camilla Celebrates the Fifth Anniversary of the Queen’s Reading Room

Queen Camilla wore a floral liberty print midi shirt dress by Liberty London at Ray Mill House

Queen Camilla founded The Queen’s Reading Room during the lockdown in January 2021. The project began as an Instagram book club, through which the then Duchess of Cornwall and renowned authors shared their literary recommendations. To mark the fifth anniversary of The Queen’s Reading Room, Buckingham Palace released a new photograph of Queen Camilla. The photograph was taken by Chris Jackson in the garden of Ray Mill House in Lacock.

Not a good pose, we can see alot further in her legs than necessary! Her team did her wrong, they should have published a decent photo.

    1. I wouldn't say the picture is indecent. You can only see her calves and ankles. She is a queen not a nun. Some celebrities are walking around almost naked and nobody bats an eye.

Well, just before I read your comment I was thinking what an absolutely delightful photo to see, especially midwinter. I love it! It’s a beautiful pose in a stunning relaxed environment. I’m so glad to have a King and Queen who delight in nature, gardens, reading and this type of simplicity! A beautiful depiction of that.

Felt like you did, for her age, and postion as wife of a King, she should never have posed like that. If blown up, the look is no good. lol

Agree with you, the thigh of her lower leg is visible. And yes per the comments some wear more revealing outfits, but this is a mature woman who, happens to be a queen therefore her photographers should pay attention. Not offensive just lack of attention to details

I see nothing wrong with Camilla's pose. It is natural, it is feminine, and it is human for a woman to sit as she is, in her garden. There is nothing indecent about her pose and she isn't revealing anything. All this talk about not sitting like that because of her age (wow), or because she is the wife of a King is ridiculous and so old fashioned. It's not like she's flaunting anything to be provocative.

Queen Camilla's Reading Room project is such an excellent and worthwhile idea, now 5 years old, encouraging the joy of reading, literacy skills and imagination among so many. And besides that, just seeing this bright, warm and colourful photo during a cold, snowy winter (in my country) is additionally uplifting.

Such a delightful photo! Those flowers and the Queen sitting on a step amongst them (not a throne, nothing formal) portrays such a beautiful accessible relatable message, which is of course a big part of her literature projects. Beautiful!

I love this project that Queen Camilla pioneered during lockdown--and I love even more that we are now seeing it celebrating 5 years of success. This is a marvelous photo that combines several things that Camilla loves: books, gardens, and the outdoors. She is a marvelous lady and a wonderful queen.

    I love
queen Camilla, and this is a beautiful photo, but you can practically see her underpants! That being said, she has very attractive legs!!!

    1. How can you see her underpants? It's true that one can see a bit of her left thigh, but then you must look very, very closely. I wouldn't have noticed anything if you haven't said it. She has beautiful legs and she looks lovely in her dress with a book in her hands. I love reading too. Nice picture.

What a lovely and sweet photo of the Queen.
Reading some interesting book among pretty flowers outdoors on a warm summer day...the bliss of heaven. Although I have to admit that sometimes it is a struggle to concentrate on reading when the book isn't very gripping, so my eyes tend to wander to all those beautiful flowers surrounding me and bees that fly around :D

  13. I like this beautiful photo and agree that the initiative is great. But then I admit that I still don't like her. (And yes, I know that Diana was not a saint.)

Her legs are beautiful, but the stairs where she sits on need to be renovated.
