On January 19, 2026, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the 2025 Gastronomic Academy Awards Ceremony at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. During the ceremony, King Carl Gustaf presented the Academy’s medals recognizing outstanding contributions to Swedish food culture. The Academy’s mission is to safeguard and promote the development of gastronomy and culinary culture in Sweden.
